I am currently going through a phase where anyone can knob on my whole team, does anyone get this? and also does anyone else get a little bit too "involved" and take it seriously.

This is one of the few games which really gets into your blood stream and makes your body go from "WOOOOO" to "**** OFF!!"

Awesome game but sometimes I hate it

I'm really struggling to enjoy PES6. After playing PES5 since release day on the PC with a dualshock, I just can't seem to get in to the new version on the 360. No matter what I do or how long I persist, its just not enjoyable. I know there's a learning curve with PES and I need to be patient, but under PES5 at least I could see progress and glimpses of what was to come.

Is it just me? Has anyone else been through this and can let me know that this is only a temporary thing? At the moment I'm planning on selling it as its just not any fun and I'll be back to playing PES6 on my PC.

I was fuming when in the first week I got the 360 version. I was expecting PS2 style flow and speed, but instead I got what seems sluggish version.

Now, 2 or 3 months down the line, I'm happy with it. Although I'm unsure whether I've just gotten so used to it... but no sometimes, I feel the pace is a little more realistic. The game is more challenging too...and now when I play PES6 on PS2 (in work almost everyday)... it's like lightening, and find myself starting to think.."aaargh this is too arcadey".

Konami what have you done to me? lol Bottom line... I'm loving it on the 360 now. But when I lose... ooooh

              Try and stick with it.

Mate, I agree. I got rid of PES6 on the 360 too!
When you play PC PES6 give me a bell. I am looking for online players to test my skill even though I'm crap!

There's a good online league for PC players over at the DVD Forums. I played in the PES5 league for quite a few seasons last year and its a good bunch of people.

Well im loving the 360 vesion now, me and my mates had a PES competition the other day and we used the PS2 version. I found it to be much slower then the 360 version, and it just felt more rigid for some reason.

                      Thanks for the plug Mike.

Yeah, we've had that league going since PES 4 and it's still going strong for PES 6 (Konami crappy servers permitting).

Would be good to give you a few games Phil.

                      Back on topic:

I did have the intention of selling the 360 version but on the basis that (a) it's worth peanuts now and, (b) I still like the odd kick about if the PC is not free, I've kept it.

I'm planning on upping my PC gaming rig this year and really really do hope that Konami do the following:

360 Version - bring gameplay in line with PC version, release a decent PES pad. Get a decent lobby system.

PC version - Make it widescreen, up graphics to make use of next gen rigs. Spend more money on the servers.

I think the biggest problem, apart from the lack of a PS2 pad, is that its a totally new game engine and there's no hiding from it. After learning the intricacies and subtle touches on the PS2/PC version, you have to start from scratch with the next gen version. Which, from comments made so far, looks set to be the new standard as far as the PS3 goes. Not sure if there will still be a PS2 version next time round?

I guess the PC version will benefit from the next-gen console ones in terms of looks, but it looks like it will inherit the next-gen engine as well.

Time to install PES6 on the Mac and see how it runs.

Any idea of whether the 360 US version features the missing bits fron the PAL release? Like the international challenge, and edit modes..?

Oh, and whether its region free...

There's a review up at IGN.

So last night I thought I'd have a couple of quick games after a long break from it. And you know what, I loved it. The pacing is spot on and patient build-ups are rewarded. Its also very satisfying when you thread a perfect through ball or cross as you've got to work hard to get it.

I'm not sure if my change of heart is because I've not played any computer footy recently, so I've pretty much put the legacy versions out of my mind now, but I really enjoyed it and will be starting a master league season this afternoon.

Is there any way to get a data & kits update loaded on to the 360? I'm guessing not, but there's no harm in asking.

But you know what, I really hope they sort out the antiquated data loading/saving system for PES7 as its a pain in the backside. Not to mention the idiotic system which reckons you can play with a black coloured football on a soaked pitch at night. And savable replays are a must-have. They really missed a trick there for online goal of the month competitions and the like.

I don't think I'm asking for much in this day and age.
