I'm digging this. Playing as Villa and was on a terrible losing treak (3 games lost, 5 without a win) and then managed a 2-1 at Old Trafford. Followed by a draw at Liverpool and a win at Spurs. Awesome. Next, Chelsea. Probably impossible, eh?

It has been reported that the frequence of inuries is too high, which does seem to be the case; barely a week goes by without one or two players needing (often quite lengthy) treatment.
I've noticed injuries sometimes is a problem, sometimes not. I can go 6 games with nothing, then get hit with 5 x 5 month injuries which is just madness.

I dunno, there just feels no skill to it...it just feels completely random and down to luck. Playing as Bolton I was losing 3-0 at half time to Arsenal (just not gonna happen, hasn't happened for AGES either) and then on restarting in sheer anger, beat them 3-0...

As I said, it's not so much the difficultly level but the fact there doesn't feel like you need any skill whatsoever, just luck. I didn't get that feeling with FM06.

i started a game as celtic. ive had a shockingly bad start to the season sitting 8th in the league can find a tactic that suits my team. but a few months into the season the board announce they have had a bid from a consortium to buy the club. my initial thoughts were that it could work to my advantage and possibly get a nice sum of money come january transfer window. a week or two later the consortium decide that if they gain control i'll be punted and replaced by sven goran eriksson. im shocked to say the least.

Carlos my advice would be to play Baptista upfront with Henry, quality player was banging in the goals for me until his inevitable injury.

Can you only send your players to your affiliated feeder club during the transfer window? I managed to send one player but now the option is greyed out.

With this, I think again it's an age thing. I think it's designed for you to send out young players you might use a lot more NEXT season, but would like to get some experience playing for the feeder club, therefore it doesn't cost you any matches.

How good is this game? I'm addicted again in a way I haven't been for many years with FM. Seems like everything is finally coming together now that the match engine has matured and been refined. Superb fun and the game runs well on the new Mac, much better than I could have hoped for actually.

Totally agree Ascender!! Picking up on some negative comments in here about the results are random and you cant actually affect the game its a just a throw of the dice, but personally I think that is nonsense. And as for the "test" strategy of reloading a game and playing the same result again only to see the same tactics get a different result, I think that is absolutely right. There are so many variables in football that if they done that with a real game the exact same thing would happen.

I have nothing for love for FM2007 and am so involved in Celtic game I cant get enough. The detailed training regimes I have laid out for different positions, the player interaction then scouting system its all an absolute dream and I cant find a single fault with it so far.

Maybe the problem with the negative feelings if people not being able to accept when their team has a bad day and just get on with it, that is part of management. I struggled with my new Celtic team at first but have now worked them round to my way of playing and the team is playing lovely football. Suppose another factor is being able to just suspend reality for a bit and just let the game take you over, guess that is why I always get so much out of these games as I just let it wash over me, dont replay ANY match and just roll with the punches, thats what the real managers do

So nothing but adoration and love for another remarkable addition to the FM and Sports Interactive legacy... you have one delighted manager here boys!!

                        Well said, Mardigan!

Although the injury frequency does still need addressing...

yep good post coyle, im in feb in my first season with Celtic and after a dissapointing start to my season im now 4 pts off the top of the league. Played till 2am last night! I love this game as far im concerned its hooked my like the old Championship Manager games used to its deffo the best footie manager yet. Celtic have been bought over by Irish investors so i got a good bit of cash to invest in the team in the jan transfer window (?13million) so Diara from chelsea has been agreed for the start of next season as has Scott Brown at hibs. Not got too involved with the training yet but i think the way im setting my team out is helping big style tinkered with it a little now the players are all happy and playing well i reckon i will pip Rangers and Hibs for the league. Wilson, Mcgeady Zurawski and Jarosik been the key men for me. And big John F Kennedy is a rock at the back :-)
Anyone who knocks this game is on crack its the best Footie Management Game yet!

Whats with you guys all being Celtic?

After reading the last few posts I couldn't agree more. Best footy manager yet in my opinion.

Maybe when they get it all patched up and we all get half decent at it we should all get an online game going?

Picked this up today for just ?24.95 in HMV and although it has been 6 years since I last played the PC version of Football Manager after just an evenings play I am addicted all over again.

I've taken control of Liverpool which hasn't made the fans very happy due to my complete lack of experience and the first order of business was to offload Zenden which I'm sure many Liverpool fans would like to do in real life. After repeated attempts to lure Iaquinta but finding him just beyond my budget I settled for spending my entire transfer fund of ?10m on Darren Bent to act as cover for Bellamy/Crouch/Kuyt which has turned out to be a wise move with Bellamy lacking confidence and Kuyt, after scoring two goals on his debut picking up a injury that now keeps him out for 2 months . Gerrard also seems to be injury prone and is out for the next few weeks with a gashed leg.

I've just beaten Chelsea 1-0 in the Community Shield thanks a Darren Bent goal and I am looking forward to the season ahead. If only Inter and Milan would stop unsettling Sissoko with repeated bids all would be well but with Sissoko unhappy at not being allowed to talk to them and the injuries starting to mount up my lack of squad depth may come back to haunt me.
