Co-op seems to have a bit of an issue with chainsawing.

Earlier this week when playing with EvilBoris after chainsawing a
I got jammed in thin air and couldn't do anything but look around.

Tonight playing with tbm he got jammed on a pillar after chainsawing a Locust.

Seems the only way to solve it is for the player to get killed (not always easy if the enemy you chainsawed was the last one in that area) or restart from the last checkpoint.

Other than that does co-op run pretty well over Live?

i've started it again on hardcore and just completed act 1

really enjoying seeing the locust with more health because they look more intelligent as they are alive for longer and make more use of cover and flanking

enjoying the online stuff, can't wait till everyone else gets it this week and we can get some games running

it seems the story is just a snap shot of what's going on. there is no back story explained. i'm guessing there will be novels and such like ala halo. i'd love to know more about it. there are obviously big plans for the locust

that female overlord voice kinda suggests there is a lot more to the locust than Raam

Very much so - aside from that little quirk the games I've played have had virtually no lag and been very stable.

I always felt the whole way through that

RAMM was just an underling. I'm pretty sure during the final battle one of his cries is "Protect the Queen!"

It's also odd that before the games release that the flying monster in the cutscene was shown in screen shots, but seems it never made it into the actual game. I kept expecting to fight it at some point - the same with the Brumak (which was especially disappointing as a vehicle battle against that would have been amazing).

It's what makes me think there'll be additional content at some point.

Must be pretty solid netcode, I realised I had been downloading using almost half my bandwidth the enture time me and you played the other day.

Just completed act 2 on hardcore with Momo, and all I can say is that if that is the worst of the 5 acts, then I can't wait to get in amoungst the next 3. Really great to be able to play the

e3 footage from a couple of years ago

                and I thought the

                pitch dark

concept worked really well, adding another aspect to the game. Have to say that I think folks saying that the gameplay in this is quite run of the mill, are missing something, as to me it is a really different and interesting experience. Also has to be one of the most atmospheric games I've played.

First two chapter have taken us about 2 hours each, so I guess we're looking at about 10 hour to complete hardcore. It's pretty challanging at points, but I'm glad we opted to not play casual as that would just be a walk in the park. Hoping Insane is equivilant to Halo Legendary, and will make a second coop run through worthwhile, as well as being a quite different experience.

With this and Oblivion the Xbox 360 now has two of my games of the decade.

I'm sure it would cause a furor, but at this moment I would love them to announce that another 5 acts will be coming out for this as DLC. This game deserves atleast a 20 hour campaign, and even before finishing it I'm sad that it is as short as it is !

Not had a problem with that yet. Double chainsawing a locust is pure class though

Im plowing through act 4 now and must say this is my favourite act, the levels in the day im much perfering than the night levels. Really found act 2 a choir to be honest but im loving act 4 its looking nicer and nicer every checkpoint

I certainly wouldn't say Act 2 was weak, it's good because it throws a few new things into the mix.

Aside from the propane tanks, heaving that car across the bridge for cover was great and the gas station fight is brilliant - the way the windows shatter when it all kicks off. Plus the way the Krill even burst out of manhole covers

I thought the game hits full pelt at Act 3 and doesn't really stop until Act 5 is done and dusted.

In many ways I envy the people who haven't played this yet. Playing through this for the first time is a great gaming experience and I'm glad I stayed away from all those spoilers before hand.

That said, playing through again is just as good as you realise all the little things you missed the first time around.

I wouldnt say act 2 was bad

I just found shooting those propan cans a real choir especially when i didnt see any and thought it was light enough then ran accross only to get attcked by bloody crows ft: and thats true loved pushing those cars

Still fun to play just feels its the weaker of the acts

Those fooking birds on Chapter 2 though, gggrrrr. Pushing the car was great though - I actually found this checkpoint one of the hardest, any tips for taking out people behind turret's, finding them hard work personally.

I agree, it grabs you by the bollocks and doesn't let go until the end.

Although, my one minor gripe I did think about last night,

not fighting that huge Mecha T-Rex.

There's usually good flanking positions for those guys, try and cover-and-run to the side to get a better angle on them.

Yeah, flanking or frag if you can, or if you have the sniper rifle (and your lucky) you can usually get a shot at them - head or exposed bit of body is usually the easiest target.

Speaking of which, just like RE4, how cool is the rifle reloading animation
