    Zelda: Twilight Princess - Wii

    So far so good.

The controls are so spot on it's really amazing how the managed it. Riding Epona (or whatever you name it) is a total joy. The amount of control you have on the horse is impressive. Such a step beyond Ocarina that's for sure.

Visually it's a treat. Still looks like a GC title mind, though I've not opened much up yet, I still expect to gobsmacked. Maybe being spoilt by 360 goodness has something to say? Or maybe because I've got to wait 5 days to get a component cable!

Sound is where it's at though. The opening music is clasic Zelda with hint's of Lord of the Rings. No bad thing at all. Running through my surround and it's the aces. Right now there's some sort of Zelda/Ewok music. Very pleasent. What put's me off slightly is the sound from the wiimote. Obviously it's of a lower quality but I do expect it to have some nice touches.

Oh, the Wii is so freaking quiet!

How long does it take to get used to the controls, do you need to calibrate them first?

Have you used the bow and arrow yet, looked a little tricky from the vids?

    Can i touch you?

Do you use the controller like a set of reins to ride the horse?? that could be interesting for future "Derby Owner" type games.

Only saw a demo of the controller being used as a bow/arrow etc and never saw any of the horse riding sections.

Another question is how much room do you need?? I know that seems a stupid question, but with the eye toy you needed to be approximately 2.5-3mtrs away from the screen, which is ok if you've just got a tv and nothing else in your room. I have a max of 2.5mtrs between couch and tv so does this make a difference?

What you say about the graphics is probably going to be true for a majority of the 1st generation of games, but if they are of a Gamecube quality then that isn't a bad start. What i'm really interested in, is the way the Wii's controllers are going to interact with ingame mechanics.

Did you get any other games with it?? What about the sports pack??

Can we keep this thread about Zelda and leave other questions for The Wii Forum. Thanks

No calibration was needed for myself, as for room space, I think it all depends on where you place the sensor. Right now I have mine sitting on the tv, I sit fairly close to my tv and have no issues at all.

Not used the bow yet, got the slingshot though and it's a breeze to use.

There's such a wonderful range of animals in the game that you interact with. Utter joy at solving a puzzle with the hawk, watching the frogs jump into the water and goats! Goat's are the new monkey's of videogames!

Just like to add that the Wii itself is slightly weighty. Surprised me.

Played enough to say that Link's wolf form pisses all over Gear's for GOTY.

I'm well looking forward to this. Should be here by Wednesday.

How does the dungeon design compare to OoT?

Are you playing on a large HDTV at all ? Would be interesting to hear how zelda looks with/without component.

I'm playing without component and I hate it few days though.

Fallows: the dungeon design is fab, it really has kept the high standards we expect but also thrown in great Wii touches.

The game really has this dark feeling to it. Think Majora's Mask but with the epic overtone of Ocarina.

Wind Waker's style really helped give npc's character, thankfully nothing has been lost on Twighlight and everybody has a set of expression's that delight's.

Glad to here this game is great, really looking forward to it now, was hardly hyped up before either.

How far are you into the game?

And is the controls good for it? Its the kinda game you sit and play for hours on end and having to do all these mad gestures to control could get annoying in long sessions compared to just using a controller.

great to see you like the game so much, I'm very curious how it is to play Zelda for several hours in a row with the Wii controller...

Is this coming to the Gamecube as I'm not interested in buying a Wii at the moment as this is the only game that interests me.

It is coming out on the Gamcube, but from what i've read, after playing the Wii version, you will not want to play it with the inferior joypad.

Just buy the Wii, and be done with it!, Its worth buying just for Zelda, (unless ofc, you can't afford it).

How text heavy is it? Is it dependent on large amounts of dialogue to know what to do? Thanks.
