my copy arrived earlier today and i've spent a bit of time with it this evening
it plays exactly like the demo so i won't cover the basics
the first level is fairly long. i was worried the levels would be really quick to blast through but this requires two mid level loads along with streaming
the first level is a lot more open than the casino demo level and requires more thought and caution. it also looks a lot like GRAW.
the levels do outside and inside egually well, obviously GRAW did inside badly but rainbow is adept at both because of it being first person
the levels also have a lot more room for exploration than the demo suggested and there are always multiple ways through an area
the big question is how does the cover compare to gears?
not as good TBH. constantly holding down the left trigger is annoying and makes your finger ache but thats the only bad point. the cover doesn't feel as polished as gears but it still works really well. it doesn't have as many options as gears (leap over, swat turn etc.) but it is a different type of game so it all feels right
graphically it is really nice and your team's animations are really cool to watch
i tried some ranked matches and came away fairly annoyed because of stupid players. one lobby was being set up by a clan and they were taking AGES to get sorted and so people joined, waited a while then ducked out. they were complaining about people leaving and when i suggested they just hurry up and start they kinda flipped and i had to leave. i also played a match where you have to extract a briefcase out of the level. i grabbed the case and some prick kept going on about not extracting because we get more points or something, why do the teenage yanks all have to be so aggressive and rude?
as we know from the demo, the game is excellent and the online is made for playing with friends. i cannot wait for the team grawsome regulars to get into this and make full use of online
