Best FPS on the 360 to date - personally I would put it as the best action shooter on the 360, knocking GoW into 2nd place. Can't understand where people are coming at with the 'it looks **** next to GoW' - complete bollocks. Just the Mexico levels, with the different looks to the various parts of town you go through, then the

Tunnels before ending up in the factory

    - it all looks ****ing great.

The cover system should be seen in every FPS from now on, it adds so much to the game without taking anything away. Its different enough to GoW's cover system to make it feel fresh, and in co-op its just brilliant.

What can I say about the AI apart from on realistic they give you the most fun game that I can remember - when you hear them asking each other for ammo, cajouling each other to attack us, screaming abuse etc, and then following it up by actions (flanking you, running off, attacking from higher vantage points etc) .... Halo was made by its AI, and R6V matches it imo.
This doesn't make my wait for the game to leave Norsk customs any easier....

Thanks very much for the invites guys, fingers crossed I will be online with it tonight/tomorrow.

With the AI, can you give any examples of where the tangos have surprised you, or actions that have impressed.

Graphics are of course important, but the level structure and AI are key for me on this game.

Can you use the face mapping for coop missions or just T hunt? It would be beyond cool, (Maybe even scary!) to be sat on the helicopter before a mission and so all you freaks next to me.

I was at my mates yesterday (my xbox is out for repair ) and we both did the face mapping, his took and age as the left picture kept not working but mine worked first time.

Anyway we took the guy online with our mate who also has done the face mapping but neither of us could see each others faces. Was this a bug or are you the only person to see your own face, would suck if that's the case.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

The AI isn't magic like in GRAW, i.e. you shoot a silenced weapon and all the enemies know exactly where the bullet(s) came from and kill you with random fire from their sniper AK-47s. They've tried to flank me and storm me in the story mode, my team and I have been pinned down a few times too while I assess the situation, and this is only on Normal difficulty.

        I like it.

Two player split-screen co-op story is good fun, but there is no story radio chatter, dialogue or transitions between levels/checkpoints.

Yeah EDGE talking out of thier ass again, I'm sure they give these scores to wind people up. Anway I still enjoying FEAR at the mo , but this for me is better than the overrated GOW with such a better cover system and far more interesting fire fights , add in the online mode and this is a bloody gem and excellent return to form , for Team Rainbow. The game is rock, but one can't stop playing it

Ubisoft not only have GOTY(for me GRAW) , but they?re also developer of the year imo

I'm not trying to start a R6 vs Gears kickoff!!!! Just very interested in how peeps see the cover systems of these two games...

Excellent game but not better than GoW. (Yes that is my one line sum up)

I just feel in more control thanks to Vegas just having one button for cover So if I break cover and get killed it's more down to me as a player making a mistake , rather than what happens in GOW Where the game sometimes makes you jump or take cover when you don't want to and that plays on my tit's somtimes .

Also I find the gameplay much more Interesting that GOW , thanks to the AI and level desgin . I like GOW, but it's not a patch on FEAR or this .
But that's my own view and no flame bate intended

I like the cover system of both. I don't think there needs to be a 'which is the best cover system?' debate.

The level design of Gears is such that a lot of the time you will spend time behind one piece of cover, sometimes using the sidestep move or roadie run to move quickly from cover to cover. For that reason the 'press a button and get stuck to cover' system works well.

RSV is much more about setting your team up in cover then advancing quickly and securely. You stay in cover for less time and move around a lot more. If you're in cover you're much more vulnerable than in GOW, so this works well with the 'hold to cover' system.

I didn't think we were having one

But I agree with your two points mate. Just wish they had sorted out the sticky-ness issue I have been experiencing with R6. Really spoils it for me after being able to move around with such wild abandon in Gears. I'm all up for slow and steady, check them corners kind of game play but need to feel I'm not going to be held up while I'm doing it ny invisible barriers - which have to be down to the cover system, right?

They just need to fix the tearing in all their games.

hmm, im enjoying what i've managed to play so far...

Game has crashed on me 6 times in 2 hours, not majorly impressed by that tbh:

                        twice during char set up
                        three times during live games
                        one in main menu

might stick to sp until its a little less tempermental...

Had crashes during online play and character set up too. You know the bit when it says "Setting up characters face, this may take a while" - I was waiting ages before I realised it had crashed

No if someone is using a face map you should be able to see it.

Seems there is a bug which prevents you from seeing custom faces. I had it last night and either I couldn't see peoples custom faces and just got the standard bald headed grunt, or my own characters face didn't change no matter what I character I set it too.

I had the single-player demo crash on me twice in two sessions. Thought it was my 360.

I picked it up this afternoon but it doesn't bode well for the final game, these reports.
