More coherent and gels better (in terms of game design) than Dead Rising, but features one of the most nonsensical, disconnected plots I've seen in a modern high-profile videogame. Yes, we all know the story is secondary but it could have been much better.

I'm glad to see Capcom are getting some deserved success in units sold though (2m as things stand), even if it's through games which aren't their most critically praised in recent times.

Hopefully it'll give them the resources to create more experimental output and they won't do a Sega on us all. Even with this in mind though, the likes of Lost Planet and Dead Rising are well-made and diverse in terms of expanding their portfolio.

edit: my bad. LP and Dead Rising combined have hit 2m.
7/10 is about right for me too I enjoyed the first half of the game but for me the second half when

your just fighting NEVEC

wasn't as enjoyable and I got board but none the less a good game and I really enjoyed taking down the gaint worm look forward to see what capcom can do with a sequel.

Oh no no no no please say you're ****ing joking? I just got back into the game thanks to the boss at the end of level 6...fighting the Akrid is the most fun in this game!

My save file has been deleted somehow so I'm playing through on normal again to open up extreme and the mission select. The first 3 levels have been child's play tbh since I'm so familiar with them now.

The giant worm respawns way too ****ing quickly after you kill it though. It only took about 30secs to reappear and swallowed me just as I was about to enter the building at the end for the Boss fight!

For me it's an 8/10. The story/acting and poor enemy AI are just too bad to ignore.

The long pauses during conversation throw it off for me - plus the scene when Wayne's bitch overly explains who that dude is they were hanging out with at the start >_<

At least you can skip the cutscenes though and you get told exactly what you need to do at the start of the level

I just finished level 9 and it's still packed full of bugs to kill. The big bug at the end of level 9 really gave me a hard time for a while too. Was quite satisfying to finally smash him to pieces.

Just made another vid for the Mission 2 boss on Extreme Mode. It's funny 'cause I complete the mission but Wayne is in the middle of his collapsing death animation because I run out of T-ENG.
Hopefully I'll have it uploaded later, I'm just downloading some free video editing software 'cause I forgot to hit stop on the record button after filming. >_<

Whoever playtested the mission7 boss on extreme needs to die. He is sickeningly difficult. I can get him to 50% each time, 30% if I'm lucky. Still yet to come really close in about 2hrs of attempts.

Machine gunning down his (regenerating) little friends for T-ENG and then switching to rockets for him (which take off about 5% each hit ). 50% approaches and I'm usually at about 2200 T-ENG... that's when the **** hits the fan... him and his little helpers get faster, they start to fire rockets and he starts firing grenades, he starts stomping all over the place without any delay time in between, and you don't have enough time to fire rockets or even reload or change weapon. Very often you will find yourself getting a nuke and stomp combo for instant death even at 2000+ T-ENG. He's an absolute ****ing nightmare.

The mech weapons in there are a complete waste of time, even before he goes mental. You can't stay still at close range to fire off the shotgun as you'll just get blown up for your efforts. Reloading a mech weapon on this boss is asking for death.

I've got to be doing it all wrong at 50%. I've tried running around looking for an opening and there is absolutely nothing there. Even when he charges at the wall in tank form if you attack his glowing rear with rockets they do no damage at all. No reason why the difficulty should ramp itself up ten-fold all of a sudden - it's as if there should be a mech here with all the gattling guns lying around.

hmm, maybe there is something about the game's ingenuity that i still have to learn...

i stoped playing after finishing the first 2 missions because i was bored to death all along. but i guess i will give the game another chance after finishing zelda.

This boss is depressing. You can avoid him all you want as it's his little probe friends who should take the priority of being killed. Just got him to 30% again, switched to machine gun, shot down two of the little bastards and then got immediately double laser juggled from 2000 T-ENG to instant death by the outstanding two. Same story every time. They move incredibly fast and there is no delay for their fire after 50%. You can't get hit once, which seeming means you can't stop to fire a rocket or even run in the wrong direction when taking out the little ones - if you're running on the 'Z' axis in sight of any of them you're toast, and that's hard work considering there are four that keep moving every two seconds.

I wish there was a mega-crush style item for times of need (and even more eye-candy). One per level would be nice.

All these bosses are piss until 50% and can usually be reduced without getting hit once, then they get crazy and stomp all over you. I'm well dreading the tank boss on the next level if there are no mechs to use. The remaining three should be OK.

That's bollocks. I just tried a gattling gun and just stood there rattling him down from 100% to 50% and he did ****all. His little bum-chums were speechless also until the dreaded 50% mark.

Unfortunately during that time my T-ENG was all spent up due to not farming the droids. Not that T-ENG matters after 50%.

LOL. Spags is teh true ghetto boy! I bet instead of central heating you have a burning oil drum in the corner of the room with a set of fingerless gloves for your mates to wear when they come round.

finished the game last night (with a message of encouragement from mr fallows) and the last level is such a let down

i'm sick and tired of games that have a ranodm crap boss at the end that is totally unlike the rest of the game.

they could have done the megaton of battles, nevec vs. akrid vs. you but no. we get another ill advised boss battle.

this had better not be a new pattern for capcom, the last boss of dead rising was awful as well

besides that i am in love with this game. every level was really good save for the last one.

the game is far too short though, i hope capcom will release some single player DLC (though u know they probably won't)
