Yeah, me too. 'With a little bit of monkey maaaaagic...'. Excellent stuff. Love the way the end stage has been hanlded too. The first song is mega apocalyptic, like.

i've been too busy loving it up to post in the thread. it's a shame the songs are pretty low quality. in the run-up to the release we've been listening to the originals and i got hyped up, so the covers kinda ruin the effect a bit. i quite like how that bankatsu one is sung by girls in the game instead of geezers

Yeah the originals are better for sure. Shame Nintendo won't pay the extra yen for them. Still the covers are at least better than the awful ones in EBA.

yeah i think that's cos we're more familiar with the EBA songs than the ouendan ones. mind you, linda yamamoto's horiuchi in ouendan 1 is lame compared with the original - the original's hilarious! in ouendan 2 i find some of the covers are actually pretty decent and one or two i couldn't really distinguish from the originals.

the guy who does the sambomaster song is rubbish, though

don't have high hopes for the mika nakashima one either, but i'll still work my butt off to unlock it

I'm going to shamelessly state I love the songs.

I know nothing about music, mind.

Ready Steady Go took me ages, in fact I got sick of it so left the game for a week or so, only to resume on a mission to have it finished before I got Ouendan 2.

What annoyed me most was the intro is sooooo long with all those extra ouendans, then I'd get into the game and die in about 5 seconds, and have to sit through the ouendans bit again, rinse and repeat.

It's why I love the skip button in Ouendan 2

Although having said that, once I got past the first part of Ready Steady Go, I got through it in a couple of goes, which was a bit freaky.

That was truly the pain. Doing it on insane made me mental after the constant fails - but I craacked it eventually, and Sd it for good measure.

I never managed Ready Steady Go on cheerleader mode, despite *many* attempts. Did anything different happen after you completed it?

Yeah, after the credits roll instead of 'tsujuku' written in the bottom right corner, you get a picture of all the Ouendan team, plus the cheer girls.

The final bonus is when you reach the maximum cheer level, at 60 million points, an other bonus picture which unfortunately you'll get to see once.

Am i the only one that felt let down by this? I think it was lacking the feeling of the first game (in the song selections). To be fair i have not hammered it like i did with the fist one and EBA, just the odd go now and again but i do feel its missing that spark the first one had.

It could be me, now being over the uniqueness of the game and the way it plays.

I think it does suffer from familiarity. I'm so used to how Ouendan plays and picking out rhythms I don't need to get so acquainted with songs now - it's one or two plays and it's done, whereas in Ouendan 1 I had to dedicate massive amounts of time getting to know each song. That said, Countdown on Hard is a stunner and I'm humming it like mad - shame SAY (I think that's what is called) can't really compare.

Jesus, I totally forgot all about this. Why haven't I got it?!

Any major new mechanics? Doesn't really need any, I'm just curious.

Just noticed the outro skip - that's about the only new feature gameplay wise!

And there is a feature, if you unlock it,

                                that removes the timer circles

(I think) which makes the game harder for more points. Hopefully that can extend the longievity (sp?) a bit because as was said, once you're good at Ouendan there's really nothing that challenges you anymore bar the very final song of cheerleaders really, which is quite annoying. There's not so much opportunity to get to love the songs like in the original Ouendan because one attempt and they're done.

I must say it's hilarious (yet somehow depressing) reading posts online from people who slated EBA for having issues, yet love this game despite it suffering exactly the same problems.
