Only started playing this on Saturday as my 360 broke the day the game was released but, for the first 4 or 5 hours, I really didn't like it (and truth be told, couldn't come to terms with the handling) and was contemplating selling it. Soon as I got in the MR2 however, something clicked and since then have been really enjoying it. Looking forward to getting into the custom paint jobs, auctions and tuning side of things.

I was the same - the cars seemed slow and dull, I was finding it a chore taking it round the tracks. However I was watching the Heroes channel (or whatever the Gotham TV equivalent is) and enjoyed what I was seeing so stuck it out and enjoy it far more now. My Seat Leon has been souped up quite a bit making it much more of a handful to drive which makes the game a lot better.

I'm finding the track variety a lot better than the first game, there seemed to be too few tracks that I was just doing over and over again.

My god, just finished Nurburgring on the exhibition, ended up using my 1992 Lancia Delta Integrale EVO because its 4WD and that damn track is bumby as hell What a pain of a track.

excellent choice, I've bought one last week, upgraded it till a maxed out S class, and now I need a second one to upgrade to a monster !
I didn't even think of swapping the engine !!

damn, I need more spare time, I've already asked at work for a few days off but no chance ...
I want to race it online, I want to tune cars, paint cars, upgrade cars and I want to finish the single player ! I need more spare time !

Aye, I changed the info screen when I was upgrading her and it told me all about changing engines and the benefits, etc. For example, if you tune up a car to the hilt THEN swap the engine you lose all your upgrades... so... I am going with the new engine first, then build her up slowly but surely being careful not to compromise performance for raw power she is also sporting a very simple but lovely paint job she is my pride and joy, hehe.

good job there ! I still can't to the tournaments, I keep getting a message that there is some sort of problem with my router ! I have to check it out soon.
terrible times to race though, it's cleary for the americans, let us know if you could beat them !

Dont even bother with the tournaments, they're broken.

1st round: only 3 people raced so we all went through but it was laggy mess & i ended up last.

2nd round: only 3 people raced again so we all went through. Was running second on lap one when the ****er in third didnt bother braking & rammed me into a wall. Crawled to the pits with smoke pouring out & a car that pulled lto one side, had no chance after that - third again.

3rd round: only 3 people again so we all should have gone through. The guy that rammed me off last time wasnt there.
Won the race but instead of going through im now out of the tourney as are all the others who raced.
Looked at the line up for the semi & the guy who wrecked my second round race has gone through instead.

Just checked the Forza forums & appently theres a bug which splits the lobby & two races can end up running with only one actually counting.
Looks like the other guy raced all on his own then & gets the next round spot.

Bah been getting disk read errors loading a track in career. Is this a disc pressing issue or is my 360 on its way out (yay onto my third! )

I absolutely hammered this in the first week, but I'm starting to think I was more addicted to the levelling up than the racing...since it became more time intensive to level up (4 races per tourney, each 8 laps etc) I've found it harder to sit down with the game for as long.

Anyone else?

It does start to take a long time to level after you reach lvl 30, due to the reward levels from races vs the time it takes to complete them, so yeah, there is a factor of that for me.

I really can't see myself getting many of the "collect all cars from country XX" achievements due to this, especially given there are quite a number of £300K+ cars in each country.

It's exactly the same with DiRT - intial races start at ninety seconds, already I'm upto six/eight minute races, and car prices three or four times the entry level ones.

Just the way of the racing game world, certainly takes more dedication (and time) the further you get. It's to sort the men from the boys

With both Forza & DiRT you know you just can't play for thirty minutes, before you know it hours have passed.

It's distracting me from finishing ICO though, so I'll get that out the door first now I think.

Bit annoyed about the skyline career race. My 2 skylines weren't nearly fast enough and only 1 was upgradeable and that with a new engine with +200bhp. So then I blitzed the opposition. No fun there.

I am currently at level 37 and it's taking ages to level up now. Best method for levelling up is to let the AI do an endurance race for you whilst you do something else.

I haven't tried that yet. Do you have to train the driver like in the first game? Seems a bit pointless otherwise.
