I got my first ever hole in one this morning!
It was the first course and a par 3, I unlocked a witch outfit for my online avatar as well... well chuffed!

Anyone else noticed in challenge mode, that you get more exp if you lose than if you win? lost 3 times on tier 6 and got Conan from Lv4 to Lv6!

Sorry I didn't post sooner. I ordered it from Game Choice Club. I've only used them once before, but it arrived within five working days. I'm hoping Minna No Golf will arrive on Mon/Tues next week. If you are concerned about your game arriving from Yes Asia, keep pestering them. I have had lots of problems with them in the past and won't be using them again.

Just a quick couple of questions:

i don't think i've seen a translation of this particular screen but its at the start of a single player game after you have chosen your character. From right to left the options are 'Start Game', 'Unknown', and 'Options (Spanner)'. The 'Unknown' symbol looks like a sort of two tone Shield, any ideas what it is?

My other question is: whats the difference between red fire and blue fire (full) super shots?

I was gonna ask that, red fire gives you an extra 10/20 yards, but the FULL shot, I just can't work it out, doesn't seem to do much at all unless I'm mistaken? I thought perhaps it mean full faced shot meaning no spin etc.

Isn't the unknown one something to do with caddy change?

The two tone shield is EASY mode, not sure what it does exactly as I've not used it myself.

I gather the difference between Red fire and Blue fire is if you hit the ball at 100% power and perfect hit (i.e. dead in the middle of the ball) then the blue fire will go further than the red fire, however if you don't hit it perfectly then it won't go as far as the red fire would have done, if you'd chosen red fire.
So if you can hit it perfect most times (I can't) then blue is the way to go, otherwise you gonna come up short compared to the red fire option.

Anyone played Minna no Golf 4? Pal version can be picked up dirt cheap and it is very, very similar to 5. Double the number of characters and courses too.

Minna 4 is also great - but this has a better structure imho.

I agree - ditching the shop, toning down the number of courses, and tightening up the challenges stops 5 becoming an endless sprawl as 4 and the PSP versions do.

.... but for a tenner, and in English, 4 is worth a punt too

Wow just tried Tiger Woods 08 demo on live market place and it shows how souless it is compared to EBG5. Ive been playing this offline a fair bit and still get that adrenaline rush of what will happen on every hole

Yay! My copy arrived today. Just been playing the first 9-holes. Trying to get a peek at the online options and the PS3 is downloading updates. It's arrival has brightened up my day!
