use the gravity gun to blow all the cars off the bridge, then it falls down a bit and you can jump the gap at the other side

What a game. What an absolutely blinding, blistering little game. Short but very sweet, just like cake.
Right now this is one of my GOTY.GOTY? Bioshock steals that for me, but Portal comes mighty close.

started to play TF2 but found it quite hard to get into. lots of confused and aimless running around the map so far. i like the art style though and will have a game or two as soon as i am done with the single player games.
quickly checked Portal and have to say it didn't grab me at all. maybe not my cup of tea.
as for Half-Life 2: this is defintely not a port of the Xbox version like IGN stated in their review. the 360 version of HL2 features better textures, enhanced HDR lighting and dynamic shadowing. so the game still looks impressive in parts. but why the game has the same frequent loading times (up to 10-15 seconds) is beyond me and i wonder if Valve has ever heard of the 360'S HDD.

TF2 is total carnage as soon as you spawn; it's very fast paced and there's little room to try and figure out what's going on. However, it is really straight forward and each class is very simple to use. Stick with it, the maps are uncomplicated and small so there's little to learn. Just pick one class and stick with it for a while
Did I see bingowings on TF2 tonight? I did attempt to say high amongst all the mayhem but I got no reply. I was "help i am dead" just in case it was you but probably not huh
edit: If you're going to be a soldier, for the love of God learn to rocket jump XDLast edited by Commander Marklar; 13-10-2007, 23:40.

Finished Episode 2 and it was superb, loved it to bits. Great suspense and atmosphere oozing out it's pores and superbly paced. It's definitely a contender for my game of the year, fantastic stuff and Valve again show why they are one of the best at making FPS's. The voice acting especially always stands out as being bloody great, never been disappointed with it yet.
Really really can't wait for Episode 3, bring it on!
Portal is also excellent, I was surprised at how laugh out loud funny it was with some great dialogue by the computer. Some tricky puzzles and some of the later ones were a bit perception bending. Unique and well worth a go.
Started on the original Half Life 2 and it definitely looks nicer than the Xbox version and runs pretty damn smoothly, haven't had any glitches yet or even noticed any framerate drops. It sure looks a lot nicer than when I played it on my PC and it doesn't seem like a lazy port to me (though I'm no technical expert). The HDR lighting especially makes it look nicer and overall I'm very satisified with it so far.

Loved it
the ending was obvious and where was the episode 3 trailer
? or is that unlocked with acheivements ?
it's because apparently a lot of the stuff in the trailer they made got cut/changed from the final version of Episode 2 so they decided not to bother this time. I've no idea if that's a fact but Valve are perfectionists so it doesn't surprise me and would be understandable. I'm also looking forward to playing against those Advisors in Episode 3, bring em some pain!

I've still to complete Episode 2 but after only two hours in I have a feeling that could be up there too.
And the years not even out yet

Just clocked the PC version of episode 2. I couldnt wait any longer and bought it via steam as a standalone thing.
Amazing game, The Orange Box deserves everything it gets. Time to sit back and wait for my 360 copy to turn up and play portal. It sounds like the most fun thing in the world from what you people been saying. (I didnt see the text just the sheer amount of emoticons)

When I get my Orange Box for 360 this week should I just jump straight into Ep 2 even though I havent played HL2 or Ep 1 for AGES or play through the whole lot again. I dont want to take away the amazingness that Ep2 is supposed to be by playing the rest of the series all over again first.
Cant decide!
