Quite late to the party, as usual. Picked this up today and I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. The graphics are almost perfect. The slowdown I noticed in the demo seems to have stayed, but you hardly notice it in truth.
The difficulty curve and the rate at which the game introduces you to new weapons/devices/gadgets seems just right. I'm just upgrading my weapons as soon as I get enough raritanium at the moment, although this may come back and bite me later.
I seem to have missed pretty much all of the skill points opportunities for the first few planets. I take it that there is a way to travel back later in the game to pick these up?

just completed this the other day myself, great fun if not a little bit too linear especially for a game of this type. The ending was a bit disapointing too.
Spoilers:
I'm cant wait another year or more to find out what happened to clank. cliffhangers in games are rediculous.
Aside from that though one of the best ps3 games so far.

I only ever played the very first Ratchet & Clank on the PS2 years about five or six years ago so the jump from that to this is rather spectacular if generally sharing the same game mechanics.
The graphics are wonderful but we all already knew that and the game engine is very smooth with only one or two moments where the game slowed down a little bit when things got busy on the screen.
The dialogue is great and the usual banter between Ratchet and Clank is worth playing the game alone for.
The only niggle I had is the obvious loading sequence when going through the portal from planet to planet or even when loading the game up; I'd rather see a 'now loading' screen to be honest!
The ending made me groan out loud when
Clank was taken away from Ratchet by the Zuni's and the screen fading to black - talk about an annoying way to finish the story but start one in a cliff hanger style straight away!
I prefer Uncharted but this is a worthwhile game for anybody who owns a PS3.

Love this game very long time!
But I'm stuck dagnamnit-
Can anyone help me out?
I'm on planet Jasindu and have gone into the gelanator plant that is accessed by a door right next to where you land,I've gone almost all the through the plant and have come to a room where there is one of the walls where you have to do the mario style left-right jump up to the top, this one is different though cos you slip down the sides,so I used the gelanator to bounce up high but I'm missing the ledge by a tiny margin,am I doing something wrong?
I really don't want the game to end this way.

I can't remember having any problems there so it's probably just a case of keep on trying.........
Quickly just checked GameFAQ's (is that a banned word here ?) and it is indeed a walljump.
Apologies if thats not too much help though......

If dragz was late to the party, then as usual, I'm later than late. Hope nobody minds me dredging up this old thread, and what's worse, moaning quite a lot. I'll get my flame suit.
I never played any R&C on the PS2, but I was looking forward to this, just for something a bit chilled out and light-hearted. But after playing through the first three levels, I couldn't escape the feeling that it was essentially pointless and cold, essentially encompassing everything bad about current-gen. The classic "great graphics but where's the gameplay?" thing.
Yes, the presentation is magnificent (does it look *too* perfect?). The humour is decent if a little thin on the ground. But the (good and bad) characters have no charisma, it's linear as hell, it's easy to the point of boredom, there is pretty much *nothing* to think about, nor to move me.
As for the much-touted "just like playing through a Pixar film", I don't see why that would be so great, everyone knows that graphics aren't the be-all and end-all. Seen one futuristic generic computer graphic landscape, seen them all. I'm all for fantasy over realism, there's something equally soul-less about trying to make games "real", but at least give me a reason to care about the fantasy world!
I wanted to like it, I really did, but there you go. Perhaps I'm getting old. I might have another dip in at the weekend. Anyway I didn't post this just to rant, but just to see if anyone can make me appreciate the game in a different light.
