      Sweet Sweet Galaxt wasn't THAT hard. I thought it would be but I think I only died once trying it! Was a cool one though!

              umm, its neither next to the terace or the fountain, one has the slingshot galaxy, forgot what the other one is but neither were sweet sweet and both were easy... WHERE exactly is this sweet sweet galaxy?, I'm lost now.

                Outside the terrace. I unlocked it before i even opened up the 2nd galaxy hub.

                  exactly. It is 'tougher' but not too hard.

                  Lovin' this game btw, for me its the pace thats really blowin' my mind, i'm 19 stars in and every new star is like...wtf!

                    No, that's not what I said (?!?). I mentioned several good things about the game, but I find it much more fun to play because of the smooth frame rate. It's lovely and smooth and for me and my usually short attention span, it really makes the difference between a game you can't take your eyes away from and one that you're just really happy with.

                    Of course if Galaxy had only been half the rate, I'd still love it because it would still look great.

                      Level design, art direction, sound and control are all factors too. But theres no doubt that 60fps really does wonders for the game compared with M64 and M Sunshine.

                      Some people find 60fps a nicer treat than others though, I remember from the PGR discussion over the past couple of years that it's not really on your list of priorities but different people like different things

                      Personally I think the 60fps gives you a far greater level of control than predecessors allowed and that is part of why the game is "easier".

                        Yeah it runs so well. I'd rather have a widescreen 480p game like this with no over scan at 60 FPS and with no screen tear, than a 360/PS3 game stuggling to keep a consistant frame rate in 720P.

                        I'm at a decent viewing angle from my HDTV and Galaxy looks almost HD anyway. Why can't more Wii games look this good?

                          Indeed... I took my Wii over to my friend's place last night, and she has an old-ish CRT so we were playing over Composite. It still looked fantastic because of the amount of effort that's been put in to the visuals and programming.

                          Almost totally off-topic, and again related to visuals... but did anyone notice that the Wii System Update (at least on the US version) of Super Mario Galaxy has taken the blur filter off of the Wii main menu? (Edit: never mind, it seems to be back on now. There's *something* you can do to get rid of it...)

                              It's surely not about the looks though - but fair enough. It sounded like the nice frame rate was the most important thing to you, especially when you later said 'I normally don't get the same immersion with 30 fps games'.

                              I believe that's nonsense and a myth. The average reaction time of a human being is 0.16 seconds. If 60fps allows the player to see thing happening quicker, then the mega-slow reaction time will negate any advantages. I can appreciate that 60fps is smoother and looks nicer, but I think control has much more to do with subtle changes in things like control senstivity, hit boxes and collision detection once you get over 30fps.
