wow i didn't know about boxing! do you dodge about by leaning on the board? funnily enough, my little bro said they should have boxing where you can lean on the board so it'd be a freaky coincidence if that were the case

I don't get the sweating thing. I did about 45 mins of activity yesterday and at most I got a bit hot.

I only had a quick go last night - but thought it was ace. The ski jumping is going to be super addictive. I managed 154 m with my first jump but since then have got nowhere near. I was just over weight and have sent myself an easy target. I always knew I had poor balance but after doing some of those balance exercises I now realise how poor I really am. I like the fact the fact that when you are out runnig you see all your other mii's jogging around the park as well. I can't do any of the weight exercises that use your hands because I am having physio on my broken and arm and it cannot takle much weight.
I also found out yesterday that I was 6ft tall, I always thought I was 5, 11. I was amazed after measuring myself to see I was 6 ft.

So right now im doing this game solo - my japanese landlady wants to get into it so she will be joining me after the weekend for what I hope will be an 8 week slog with this game (ill probably photograph the week by week and then add it to a blog/flickr page at the end of it). I wanted to see if a combo of gym/lifestyle and wiifit contribute to a fitter healthier me - and which things I felt did it best. Nothing scientifc mind you. I started all these things (gym - new diet - wii fit) at the same time, so ill see which ones I feel make me feel better/loose weight at any given time.

I was really really sore after the upper body workout at the gym - and so I was worried that doing too much of this would hurt me. With the exception of the muscle groups - I was dead wrong. Yoga actually helped me un-kink my shoulder muscles and the aerobic excercises were surprisingly fun and helped pick up a sweat - though I dont know how effective the running aspect is because I always felt that most of the burn came from going forward - but hey, it was a good warm up.

Muscle groups were a bit of an odd one -while I generally avoided all the upper body ones - I did try one and I totally screwed up the postioning but the game said I was doing fine. Obviousily it can only check the pressure and balance your putting on the board - but wii-fit is surprisngly easy to cheat. For adults this isnt an issue, but I could see kids forging their results to get kudos with their parents .

All and all - for the Yoga and balance section alone I think this game is worth it and I enjoy adding this to my lifesyle. The fit-bank is a great concept and does help me keep track of active time ive spent on each session.

I'd like to apply to join the sweaty club, for me the static yoga ones seem to get a real strain and sweat on.

i'm really impressed with this, love the whole clean wii sports brain training kind of presentation that Nintendo seem to be making their own now.

i'm just really glad there is room in gaming now for this and GTA to both have huge launches at the same time. In its own way this is just as innovative and just as cool.

One of the screens does mention the need to warm up prior to exercise btw. Something highlighted in the review here as missing.

Pete, it really does work yes. And you know what is wonderful? My girlfriend's five year old daughter is playing it right now (the Step game) and i'm sitting here sweating like a beast with aching bones yet feeling pleasantly refreshed. I'm no stranger to exercise, i'm always doing something - whether it is martial arts, running, in door stuff like press ups, sit ups, leg crunches etc (been going to gym for 5 years) but this really does help to improve posture, balance and how the yoga is presented is genius. I'm definitely going to be using it to keep track of my weight - and there's no harm in losing a few Ibs so i'll be using this as the incentive...

I really thought i was quite fit before this... Now i'm really excited about getting fitter! Love it....

I have wooded panel floor, is there a kind of cheap mat i can get to lay on to do the jack knife? At the moment it kills my back. And those yoga mats ive seen don't look anymore comfortable. So, any recommendations?

This has made me realise how out of shape I am! Thought I was ok, BMI at 25.15 which is overweight app. I train a lot of muscle in the gym but I'm not huge.

I knew I was a bit podgy but my stretching ability is really poor! Am loving it though, it is just exercise but it is fun! My housemates have been getting involved too, we track each other and compare... The only thing is it takes a long chunk of time to play, an hour for 30 mins exercise? Its good as a supplement but I can't see it taking over the gym for me.

Glad I got it because I can see some awesome games (snowboarding please) coming out for the balance board. 2m copies sold in Japan alone tells me there will be more software soon

Yes, I was going to mention this. They should have added some optional warm-up exercises too though.
