What? If anything this game beats every other football game ever in being creative, free flowing and tactical? The whole point of the game is to control your WHOLE team at the same time, making runs to create space for through balls and everything else. It's not _only_ about free passing, which of course is amazing in itself, but, the fact that you're controlling your WHOLE team at once. This combined with everything else is the main point here, it just opens up so many possibilities that have never before been possible in a football game, but were integral to the real sport.
Yeah, it requires a totally different mind set from every other football game ever, but I urge everyone to keep an open mind and study the game for what it is.
This game is the first revolutionary title for Wii (SMG raised the bar for level design and direction, but this is something totally different). It totally changes the way football games can be played, there's just no turning back for people who grasp the beauty of the system. This is the hc of the hc, and beautifully implemented. Much respect to Konami.
Read other forums for tips, even GAF for starters. There's a lot to be learned:
But really, if you like real life football, this one is a dream come true.

Well this thread has convinced me and Ive ordered the game...
I'm wondering though is there a way to remove the masive arrows/lines? Maybe its just, me but if clicking on a player passes stright to them, then having a massive and intrusive line appear on the pitch every time you kick the ball sounds extreamly annoying and pointless....

Just got mine and sat reading the manual gave me headache lol Wow how much depth has it got! Also great to see it has offline league and cup modes (and from manual you can incorporate a cup into a league) so thats enough for me to stop worrying (I play cups all time on PES versions). THEN add to that the extensive new Wii masterleague and its definetly worth itAnd of course theirs online
From manual you can even send your team from the master league to play against another friends team each day once (your team is then played by CPU).

Just got this and was enjoying it until i realised that all you have to do to win a match against the cpu is score and then pass it to your defense and stand there with the ball and you arent closed down at all. At least this is the case on professional, but sure about the hardest difficulty.
Really disapointed anyway as besides awful A.I. (its not very good in other areas either really) this seems like a really good game.Last edited by rmoxon; 29-03-2008, 01:51.

Got this yesterday and I'm absolutely loving it! Really enjoying the amazing strategies that you can come up with.
Scored a cracking volley yesterday after drawing defenders out of position by creating crazy runs for my off the ball players. Left the box pretty much empty for my lone striker to smash home a stunner!!
I'm really happy that it runs with no stuttering or slowdown either. After the disappointing next-gen versions this could have been another stumbling block for PES but his is the version that I'l be playing from now on.
