It's a
big flying metal worm thing with electric pylons on three quarts of its body. Get too close to it and it fries you. Stand in front of it and it blasts your with UNDODGEABLE LASER ATTACKS. It also sends waves of baby metal worm things at you which again are UNBLOCKABLE and home in on you no matter what.
Somehow you can make it flip on its back and attack its weak point for massive damage but I can't figure out what the conditions are. Other than that I'm trying to chip it down with arrows to the face which seems to work quite well. But those damned homing exploding fish things >_<
I'll still be getting this when I get a new 360, I really enjoyed the first game, but stories like this do make me wonder why I should bother. A challenging boss shouldn't be cheap.

The key is to attack from distance.

With Gaiden its about limiting the damage you take using any skill you have as well as attacking the enemy in the best way possible.
Or are you talking about in real life situation??
Are you trying to say it's more realistic to take severe damage yet still manage to succeed, then to take no damage and succeed??

Good luck guys,
This game is full of ****ty and badly thought out / designed boss fights.
There's also the amazing invinsible boss glitch, requiring the player to reset game...sucks to be me!
BUT
The last boss...is......****ing cool and hotness!
anyway, the game really picks up the pace from Chapter 10.
Less fiends, more spider clan ninjas (best enemies in the game)....literally HUNDRED of em on the way to the temple...including MASSIVE slowdown. The carnage is awesome though, I pretended the game was going in slow mo in order for me to appreciate the sheer brutality.
If the game had a mission select mode, I would be playing this mode over and over n over again. It almost makes up the disappointment with the rest of the game.

Have to say i have been conditioned...that if i get good enough at a game i should be able to complete it without dying or even getting hit (hence why i was not that keen on ibara) think though the original ninja gaiden caused a huge rage with me how evere i think i could master it eventually....howevere if this game is even cheaper...i hope and pray they release a patch or a update to tone it down to make it fairer.

The game isn't neccissarily hard, just... frustrating.
I've only ran into one road block which I'm blaming an overdose of energy drinks for, and that's the Stage 4 boss. I took one look at him, thought "Nah" and let myself get smashed.
It's the same old, but much slicker, and that means it's very, very nice. Shame some of the weapons are ridiculously unbalanced, no matter how fun. Lunar Staff anyone? Got it to level three midway through stage 2, and the X-Y-Y-Y Combo is so spammerific, it's scary. Add Ult Combo's in and the difficulty barrier fades away. So easily abusable >:

Just did the first 4 chapters - Master Ninja ranked them all. My thoughts so far is that this game is better than the first in almost every respect. So much faster and more brutal. Obliterations make the game a hell of a lot more fun. The game also isn't cheap. In my experience getting hit from offscreen was very rare. I'm almost always in a blocking stance and so should you be.
However, the boss fights do seem less fun than in first game, but they are completely fair. For instance I beat the chapter 3 boss without taking any damage. Took a few goes before I totally figured him out, mind you. The music is also not up to par with part 1, which had one of the best game soundtracks ever.
Overall though, if the game keeps up being this good I predict it will be my game of the year.

Would it be good design to remove the energy bar and make it so you die after one hit? I don't think so...Last edited by Morph; 07-06-2008, 04:37.

Anyways, where you up to with this? I never played a NG before so it's all new to me. As a result I only just finished the 2nd chapter and got them sweet Wolverine claw things.
