You haven't got a chance of understanding the storyline in Japanese, its bad enough to follow in english.

Ok, I may as well just stick at it then. All text is in English anyway. Only thing I can't understand so far are the codec cut scenes. Everything else is in English with JPN subs.
WTF is up with that crazy stuff at the beginning too? That game show, and cookery programme etc? ¬_¬Kept you waiting, huh?

Any chance anybody could run me through the options screen? It's the only text in the game that I cannot read
I can work out all of the swapping axis' and stuff, and the select button thing, but there are a few I don't know what they do.Last edited by J0e Musashi; 12-08-2008, 13:48.Kept you waiting, huh?

I finally got hold of the 80gig MGS4 pack.
Am almost at the end of Act 1 (I think!) - am loving this so far.
There is so much on offer - you can play any number of ways it seems from pure stealth to full on run and gun. Am loving the weapons options & the variety so far.
Some parts have been quite tough & it's taking me ages to used to the controls - will take a couple of playthroughs to get my cqc technique back I think. Haven't really used the MkII much yet - though I guess I should. Have had my arse kicked many many times thus far!
Only thing bugging me thus far is the loading times - damn annoying.
Apart from that am loving this as much as Snake Eater thus far.
Cannot wait to finish this.

Completed it the other day too, think I was toad rank (whatever that means). Whilst the gameplay is excellent, it was starting to drag a little towards the end with all the cutscenes and communication interuptions. Kojima needs to learn when to STFU and get on with the game. Don't think it'll be one I'll play through again as most of the surprises are spoiled, but it's definitely one of my gaming moments of this year so far.

Jebus. I'm playing on Big Boss Hard now, and I can't even make it to meet up with the MK.II to get all my stuff back. Well I'm guessing I will be able to if I play properly instead of just trying to run straight there, but the difficulty spike between this and Solid Normal is huge. As soon as I enter the second area a PMC sees me, I have 0 rations and 30 rounds in the AKKept you waiting, huh?

Thats one of the harder parts since you have no solid eye and tranquilizer yet. I haven't done it on Hard, but I did on Extreme without being detected and I guess thats even harder. Your best bet is a lot of moving in prone position. And going upwards and roll over the gap at the place with the statues I found to be the easiest route (prone after the 1st guard there or they hear you from underneath).
Use CQC, and hide the bodies well (closets etc).
