Cut scenes and codec scenes are, but press start and everything is in English. Items, Weapons, Drebin's Shop etc. Those strange opening movies are in English too, with JPN subs. I can play the game with no trouble whatsoever, I just don't know exactly what is going on, but I'm happy to wait on the "Integral/Substance" version to find out
    Kept you waiting, huh?

Aha I see, I thought you meant that you were able to have English subtitles throughout the main game. My Japanese is pretty good but even so trying to understand what they are on about is pretty deep and hard to grasp. Thanks anyway.

I'm going for a run of No Alerts/No Kills at the moment I'm just wondering if you get seen can you just die or do you have to quit to the menu and load again?

Re-load, unless you only get a caution. That's ok.

No worries. I'm living this game currently. I freaking love it!

Supergoal - you still would not understand it in Eigo!

For three, I DLed the script from gamefaqs, maybe try something similar?

Up to Act 4 now, and all I can say is WOW - this game gets better and better.

                  GOTY.

For those who haven't loaded it up for a while, all the podcasts have finally been made available in the Extras section. I guess it took a while because Ryan Payton was supposed to record them and he left the company.

Plays something like a director's commentary - they ask you to play the podcast at specific sections of the game and then walk you through it pointing out some of the features and design decisions etc.

Oddly though they do them out of sequence - I just listened to parts 2 & 3 which cover the South American tracking section, and they announced the next one will be the power station - which I have now gone past and can't return

I did the first one where you first meet the frogs, but as it was my 5th playthrough I didn't listen to it all, seems silly you have to unequip it all the time too to actually play. Its a nice feature for sure though, I've sold my copy now Great game.

One bit I liked was where they show you a sniper position and then ask you to go to where he was aiming - there is a bra on the rocks. They wanted the bra to catch the players eye so they wander into the snipers field of view and get spotted, but said it didn't work as the bra wasn't very easy to see - most people saw the sniper first!

I had a blast playing it again, rolling through windows, grabbing guys, putting a knife to their throats and shooting their friends etc etc. I'm using the Laughing ammo and it seems to make the enemies start shooting at each other, very handy!

OK so I started to play this again due the trophy update and getting my PS3 fixed after a few months PS3 drought.

I already knew how great this game was, but playing it again last night after a 4 odd year hiatus, it has completely shocked me just how effing great it is. I kept thinking to myself, crickey this came out in 2008? I've played games released this year that are nowhere near this from not only a technological perspective but a gameplay one as well. The bit with the trucks rolling in through the desert and then the music kicking in is just awesome - and that's just the bloody intro!!

Cannot wait for the numerous playthroughs to get my platinum, though dreading my big boss run......

                            Yup.
Although only one trophy (thank god) that needs BBE emblem (the MGS3 iPod tune) as the others really need multiple play throughs and Drebin points (tanegishima)

There's a few decent BBE speed runs I've been watching. One where Crying Wolf goes down in about 2 seconds. Though you need the grenade launcher (firing foils) and multiple save reloads, as you have to get Wolf to spawn at this particular point near where you start.
Also the Boktai gun helps loads.

Was also playin this the past few nights, and to think it's been just over 4 years since its release. It still looks great. Also, there's so many things tucked away, as it's well worth listening to the downloadable podcasts as they give you a slight detour through the various acts, with various information on why this particular section of the game is the way it is, amongst various other things.

Gameplay still feels tight and there's so many little touches and details within each environment.

                              Question:
If you've fulfilled trophy requirements in previous playthroughs do you get them automatically? Or do you need to replay everything?

Replay everything. The update sees to that.
