    what am I missing ?
The jigsaw pieces. You won't get the full enjoyment unless you try to collect every one, which is easier said than done.

I'm guessing the demo is the first available world (world 2)? If so then I wouldn't say that is representive of the game (you only have the rewind ability), it's the later worlds when the game really comes alive with its timing bending puzzles. Also you're not going to be able to reach some pieces until you've collected pieces from later levels, so yes you're supposed to wander off without picking them up.

Finished and collected all 60 Pieces today. Absolutly loved it from beginning to end and that last level is fantastic.

FWIW on the the game being short debate - I've been through every level about four times over at least now, and still need more practice before attempting a speed run. I'm still not bored of it.

And I've just found out about some

hidden stars that are in a few of the levels, so there's those super secret things to find now

          - this game easily warrants 1200 points, sure, 800 would be better, but the guy's gotta eat, and there was no guarantee that even at 800 points this'd sell many copies.

I've traversed worlds two to six now but have only solved two and three. Taking my time with it. I think it's a very well crafted game that is worth savouring.

Can we talk about Braid now? If people are too cheap to pay an extra £3 for a game regardless of the quality of said game then that's their choice, it's them that are missing out.

Take this price discussion to another thread, it's boring, I want to read about Braid - the game.

Will be moving pricing discussion to Braid xbla marketplace thread instead and please keep this to FIRST PLAY and about the game itself (that includes myself!) kick my own arse i will.

                EDIT
Now moved all pricing discussion to, if you want to continue or contribute please do so in there (myself included)

Lets keep this for First Play and gameplay opinions, thank you

Loved the demo and wanted to buy in right there but i have ordered point from tesco so the wait is killing me, when my points turn up from tescos I will be purchasing this without doubt.
Music is lovely and it just has a fantastic wee style about it, plus I have always loved time elements in games glad to hear it gets better later on and more puzzle elements.

It's brilliant. It manages to pay homage and yet subvert the platform genre at the same time.

To the point where it isn't really a platformer at all.

I wonder if Blinx inspired this game in any way, I hope it did for the sake of how I reviewed that ugly bull**** game.

This game ticks all the right boxes for me. It's different to anything I've played in quite a while (since Portal 8 months ago), looks beautiful, sounds lovely and never gets too annoying. I've really enjoyed a lot of the puzzles, and the various mechanics never outstay their welcome before a new one is introduced.

That opening screen reminded me of Ben Templesmith's artwork, always a winner in my book.

No cross-hairs, no bald space marines, no DJ Bastard Atomica, just me and my brain sitting in an audio-visual treat.

Well put. I couldn't agree more.

Watched my mate play through this today and whilst I can appreciate it for what it is, it's far too fiddly and faffy for my liking. I also disliked the sprites quite intensely. All the backgrounds, FX and such are v. nice, but I think the actual characters are a bit charmless.

Not for me, but I can completely understand why people have gone doolally over it.

Has anyone else solved a puzzle by accident? I just have, sort of.

I kinda knew what I had to do but couldn't quite make the last part work. Then it all just dropped into place without me even realising it. I feel relieved and slightly ashamed at the same time.

It must have. The puzzle solving mechanics in world 2, 3 and 5 can be found in Blinx as well.

I think I like Braid. I was hoping for something more. I don't know quite what it is that don't like. I do know it constantly makes me feel stupid for not figuring things out though.
