this game is a little overpriced and even more overrated in my opinion. it's instantly clear that a lot of sophistication and thought has gone into this game but the character design is poor and the gameplay mix of mario meets puzzle solving just didn't click with me - yet.

i've played the trial as far as i could solve the puzzle of the first world - two pieces left with no clue how to get to them

I solved that puzzle yesterday. I previously said that this game makes me feel stupid, but getting those two pieces restored my faith in my own intelligence

It's the smartest puzzle so far in the game.

Wow! I was writing a post about how I'm stuck on those 2 same pieces and how I knew

the jigsaw created a new platform to use but I still couldn't reach the far right from it when I thought "hang on, the pieces don't have to stay right in the picture frame" and I moved it so I could reach it. I was still stuck on what to do for the piece above the door when I thought I'd try and get the enemy onto that platform as well by extending the one he's on. Thought I was mad when it didn't work but eventually it did, amazing!

If anyone had told me how to do that it would have ruined it completely.

Haha. We're not allowed to say things like that. It upsets the easily upsettable.

Lovely game so far, in my eyes it's very much worth the asking price for the title screen alone. When I first gained control I spent a fair few minutes just wandering about those initial screens. The levels look amazing, I didn't expect there to be so much depth in the backgrounds. The sprites are pretty naff though, the main guy's alright but the enemies are horrendous...though I'm warming to them.

I've only had about an hour on it so far, but there's already been a lot of immensely satisfying puzzles. There seems to be definite replay value in there too.

              Truly, it is well wick'.

Got 200/200 on this now, after getting the speed run achievement! Game completed in 42 and a half minutes - aces.

I was a little worried when I heard about the games length, 42 minutes? Ridiculous! But there is so so much to do in this game when you dig a little deeper, so many genius little touches, this is GOTY material. I've got a good 20 hours out of this in the last three days, easily. And it's so awesome how it does away with needless crap that bogs other games down, it feels so much more pure.

Just completed this. Very different. Need awhile to figure out the ending. May restart the game, I've heard there are
                  to collect.

Do you have to get all the puzzle pieces in the speed run to get the achievement?

Yeah you do, you need to go through the game entirely, all the way to the end of the epilogue

Does rewinded time count towards the clock?

Lol, the timer is independent of any rewinding, unfortunately

I brought this on the wednesday as it's sublime. The worlds to run through are saturated with beautiful, vibrant colours and the music is something I don't experience in most 2d games. It's a truly visceral experience.

I'm only on world 4 at the moment. As i'm going back and collecting all the pieces of the puzzle for the current world. Which i've done for the first 3 and have left it on zone 4 for now (that was 2 days ago).

Oh, and them hard-to-get 2 pieces in the first world was truly great when I figured out how to do it aswell.

Been spending some time this evening doing the ones that take a bit more timing, it's wonderfully satisfying to complete them. Can't see me being able to do the speedrun at this stage but then I have just finished puzzles that this morning I strolled right past saying "sod that for now"

I don't think it's over priced, just because it's on the arcade doesn't mean it should be pennies. Would it be worth more if it came on a disc in a box?

Just put up Episode 1 of the SavyGamer podcast, which has an extensive interview with Jonathan Blow, the creator of Braid.

We talk about the design process, his working relationship with Microsoft, the Xbox Live platform, the pricing debate, and some pretty emotional stuff too.

Let me know what you think.
