You haven't downloaded the right user-created levels if you think you can't get any sense of challenge or threat out of it.
I would sympathise with you, Boris, up to a point. The only score mechanic they've demonstrated is the bubble-collecting and the score multipliers for that (you did... notice the score multiplier, right?), and the controls are too floaty to implement pixel-perfect jumps a la most of the old-school 2D platformers. But these are the first four levels of the game, and people have already turned out levels with the beta that demonstrate you can get a fair old obstacle course going. I'm not anywhere near as sold as Chain, but I'm pretty confident the full thing will be a decent single-player game, both the official levels and the DLC.

has anyone come across the God of War level? it is amazing...so much time and effort has been put into it, it really is extraordinary. It involves a few puzzles including finding a skull and bringing some object to be 'sacrificed'. Its a blast in co-op! Im really getting into this game...still feel the levels need to categorized a bit better to know what to expect

They said around 50 levels with "the first half of the game is one long tutorial, introducing you to all the gameplay mechanics in the game."
So thats 10 levels gone already then, rest of them will be mostly about collecting stuff the people have lost so that you can fully use them in the creation mode.
So to get the maximum out of the creation mode will you have to grind through 50 levels first?

Put it this way, I shan't be searching for levels tagged "brilliant" any time soon.

Unfortunately there will be a trophy for getting your level hearted (but it has to be by a number of people) so the system could well be abused... however during my little online jaunt yesterday I found a lot of the fun was just in exploring the different levels (good or bad) with my new found yellow buddy... there really was a sense of discovery because there were so many different places and different styles of level to see. I don't mind going through the dross if it plays out like that - and when you do find a good one it will be more rewarding!

I am hoping, that the full retail version with the full single player mode and an expanded set of items, will really inspire users to create more difficult, varied and fun levels....although i am really enjoying it, the variety in level design and choice is starting to become a bit stale...im sure there are some undiscovered gems out there, which are waiting to be played, but i think after playing the same sort of levels one after another will really test the lifespan of the game.
Plus at the minute i really cant work out if it will still be fun after a few months, as i said i am loving it...i think the game will sell well, but I think its biggest test will be trying to avoid falling into the 'novelty' category, as I can see this happening if what I discussed above fails to happen.
And because of this...im still not sure if it will warrant a purchase.

I'm definitely picking it up at release now, so I've stopped playing the beta. I think more than just wanting levels to be challenging (Though I do want those as well), I personally really like the levels that try something different, and I'm not sure I'll ever tire of firing it up and looking into those.
There's supposed to be a level called 'All Quiet on the LittleBigPlanet', which is about Sackboy going off to war. Haven't checked it out, but I definitely will when the game releases along with other levels like that.
One thing that I don't think the MM levels are credited with enough is the hidden stuff. You have to play through them more than once to get every item that's hidden in the level (Once you've earned triggers from other levels) and I really enjoyed doing that as well - not challenging in the sense that you're likely to die, but that you have to try things out and explore to find everything.
