Yeah that's what I was getting at, for any score challenge level you need to move the entry gate to the scoreboard area after you enter the level. In your case though, you need to move the scoreboard after the player has used 7 of his 8 lives, or whatever. So some kind of counter in the launch tube would be needed (assuming the tube is sealed off after you launch).

I got the multi-ball, it was great!! I think you need to advertise it more cos it's quite a challenge to pull off, maybe a comment on the level description?

OK. How do I "move" the entry point? Just with pulleys or is there a more clever Transportation way? Because I can't see how to do it otherwise!

Looks like it'll mean you only have one life, else this is going to take far too long. What will that do for multiplayer online?

It'll just mean if one player dies, they have to watch until the other person dies too. You can move the portal by any method that works really. One life is going to make it vvvveeeeerryyy hard to see your bonus effect...

I don't like you Darwock! Making me fine tune the sodding level even further!!!

OK... ScoreBoard now working! Only one life, not ideal but the lengths I had to go to to get this working, including replacing about 40 sensors, emitters and sound effects around the side of the table that all got deleted once I modified the material shape

So things may not work 100% now, but it looks ok to me after a bit of testing. I've set a really low score, then modified the left flipper so it's quicker (0.4, used to be 0.5) so it's not impossible to get to the middle bumpers and that Red target to hit there.

Hope it now meets your approval

Will give it another bash after I can drag myself off Warhawk, haven't been able to pull myself away from it all day.

Thanks Myth. I'd like to get a few people playing this as I'm pretty proud of this one

Shame about the 1 life aspect.... no, must leave it alone....

Absolutely love it mate, how long have you spent on it because it seems like it would take days upon days of work to do.

Managed to bag the current high score for now on my second attempt

I've seen Congrats! I'll beat it sometime

V7 up now, tinkering with the flippers as I don't like them. They cause deaths, annoying with just one life.

Map has taken a week or so? Had the idea last week, then chucked a few things together. Only completed as I've been home with a chest infection the last 3 days so been able to do the small things like triggering sounds and lights. Glad you like it

An LBP level is for life, not just for christmas.

Although this is not my project, this 'one life' problem is pretty interesting and I couldn't get it out of my head. I ended up designing this tool at work today, which I've just finished building.

Darwock's patented Last Life Trigger! lol

The wobble bolt on the silver disc is set to do a 360 degree rotation when it is activated by a one-shot switch. During it's rotation the magnetic switch is activated long enough to slide the piston along by a fraction. After 4 rotations the piston reaches the end, which activates the emitter and turns on the switch at the bottom.

I've already tested this using a moving entry gate with a proximity sensor on it (the wire coming in from the bottom left), and an exit on the other side of a wall of deadly gas. On the 2nd last life the switch activates and moves the entry gate to the other side of the gas, so you exit the level with the last life alarm ringing (that's the wire you see going off the top left of the pic).

I wanted to capture a video to demonstrate but the gf has run off with the camera again. As I don't actually have a use for this myself yet (you might end up hating me even more for this), Chain I've sent it to you - it shouldn't be too much work to fit it into what you've got already if you do want to make use of it. Forgive me for stepping on your toes.

You just need to add a one shot switch that goes off each time sackboy spawns.. with your design I wouldn't attach it to the gate like I did (because when falling in and then jumping sackboy will pass it twice).. but a mag switch at the bottom of the plunger would probably work?

A word of warning, the object I sent obviously doesn't have a wire on the wobble bolt (as it is an external source) so be sure to keep the level paused until you've connected it up properly, or else the disc will spin like crazy and you'll have to reset it manually.

Brilliant! Great piece of design there

I'm not sure how to put this to use. Since you've last seen the level, I've moved the spawn position out of the table. I need to think about the flow of this and how to implement it for multiplayer use. Also, I'd prefer not to close the plunger off, as I like being able to land back in there to collect the points in multiball.

Darwock, that's an inspiring design. I'll see what I can think of

That sounds amazing, how do I seek out your level?

Either add me to your FriendsList then you can jump to my maps, or for a quicker way, go to the main planet, Community, Search, then type ChainsawFilms in the search field. Should jump straight to my two maps. You could try searching for Pinball but that churns out some crap, not sure if mine appears there or not.

Let me know what you think

New version on later today, with more point bubbles flying around. Then I'll give Darwocks little device a go

Yes it's getting a bit silly. Version 8 now up. More points, probably going to hurt the frame rate. Not even tested, so could be buggy as anything!!

Yeah I noticed afterwards, but didn't want to edit my post in case you had a better idea than me lol.

Although with your new design I think it would work better, and you no longer need to close the plunger.. if you set a one shot prox. sensor with a range that covers the gate and up to the point where the players drop into the plunger, it will only trigger once per gate use. Multiplayer is no problem either, as the gates don't actually go by lives, they go by the number of times they have been opened (and all dead players come out at the same time when it opens once). In your new layout the gate is offscreen, so it will only open when all players are dead - so one player is the same as 4 players in terms of 'lives'. It would somewhat interrupt the flow however, if the player had to run along the entry path and jump back into the machine each time.

Anway this is purely philosophising, I am in no way trying to urge you to use it
