I didn't play Pulse so maybe that's why I'm loving this so much but I honestly think it's the best, most balanced racer I've ever played. I don't feel hard done by when I lose a race, it's either my fault or the person had saved a good power-up to get me with.

And I'm personally loving the tracks. Played alot of reverse ones last night which were tricky as hell at first. The Climb one backwards is great, going down all those tight corners downhill instead of up is great.

And I love finding the best place to use speed boost on the speed laps, found an amazing place for it on the Climb track and thats why I managed 7th in the online scoreboards for it! Which still haven't updated though!

If you've played both Pure and Pulse on the PSP; would you say this version is still worth getting? I'm loving the 1080p, 60fps etc. but i'm wondering if i'll get bored with Wipeout HD quickly due to so little tracks that i've already played recently.

Well I played Pure a wee bit but for £12 if you're a WipeOut fan then this is a must buy I think. It just reeks of awesome from so many angles. It's so much fun. This is how Wipeout is meant to be played. Not on a 3 inch screen using a ****ty nub and shoulder buttons. In full glorious HD, surround sound on a proper controller on the internet.

        It is bliss.

          Thanks Rossco.

I may well buy this, especially when remembering the awkward controls on the PSP version.

My wallet will be £12 lighter very soon.

Here's a couple I took last night while flying over Sebenco Climb.

One unexpected consequence of waiting for other people to load online is you get more of a look at the flybys than you would just going through the campaign not thinking about them. Bits of the scenery really are startling. Seeing a longshot across the water on Moa Therma looked brilliant.

I find it funny something like WipEout actually has a backstory, and repeated names, images, strong, consistent design, that kind of thing. It's really a lot more atmospheric than some RPGs I've played.

Is there not going to be regular DLC? Isn't that why it was so cheap to start with?

Successfully stole it from my dad. Very standard I reckon, h'ain't no Ridge Racer by any means. Now I remember why I never liked the series in the first place. Good for trophies I guess.

Admit its because it isn't Japanese.

Indeed Basel, it's far too Western for my tastes. Music is pretty good though. Still I commend it for knowing I have a JPN unit and adjusting the O and X buttons accordingly.

Another flippant comment from you Joe, with no explanation as to why you don't like it.

I don't like the handling for starters, and if I wanted to fly around shooting stuff I'd play Ace Combat. I reminds me of a spkkr version of F-Zero.

So why is F-Zero any better? Isn't it the same concept?
