Had some great matches with 5 or 6 people off here tonight, setup some tournies and had some great rivalry in each tournament.
Shame there's no easy in game invite system, hopefully they'll add it soon.
It would be nice if there was some sort of online ranking for online matches as well so you could get some sort of EXP the more you play and better you do.

Anyway looking forward to some more matches with the NTSC crew in the future.

Great games online tonight, thanks doodledude for t'invite.

To use the headset you have to hold L1 which is tricky when you're flying around corners at breakneck speeds!

Oh my god I LOVE this game!!

Been at it a few hours now, totally mesmerised. Playing it on the middle difficulty for AI and still going through Venom. Do you need to start on Venom anyway then work your way up to Phantom? That's what I'm going to do anyway, just wondering if some people skip right to the fast stuff?

Managed to get 57th on the leaderboard for one of the time trials, hopefully it's out of alot of people and not like only 100 or something but there's no way of scrolling up or down the leaderboard to see for example how fast number 1 is or how many entries there are which is a bit rubbish really.

Apart from that though, its just MENTAL!!!

I paid extra for it, since I'm almost out of download for the month; I'm playing it on a fuzzy composite connection which squashes the image and seems to add controller lag to everything; I'm as terrible as I always was (haven't actually touched a WipEout game in a while, either)...

Still brilliant. One for the fans, maybe, and you can argue it even stiffs the fans a little, with no new tracks and the same music as Pure/Pulse... but my Lord it's gorgeous, it's WipEout, there's nothing quite like it (FZero really isn't the same) and it's got custom soundtrack support. PSN selection is miles ahead of the other two, as far as I'm concerned. Ah, Sony - how'd you manage to get so much wrong, yet so much so, so right?

must admit, I cant get over how gorgeous it looks. Its a downloadable PSN game and it puts many 'proper' full releases to shame.

Plays well too. gonna get some more in before work this morn.

I think i'm highly thick when it comes to the PS3, I actually forgot it had the new XMB until I pressed the PS Button.

Wow this is how it should be man.
It's great to see a game FULLY optimized when released,there is nothing wrong with it at all!
Good times.
Also it has totally changed my opinion of the dual-shock controller,which often felt a little crude compared to the 360 pad has been transformed into a beautifully precise and effective tool of feedback,it's amazing.
I got 5th in the world on one of the tracks too

Can someone point me in the right direction of inviting friends into rooms? I can't find the option

I think i'm highly thick when it comes to the PS3, I actually forgot it had the new XMB until I pressed the PS Button.

There is no in-game invite option that I know of, you have to message people from the XMB, hopefully they can add this option later as it sorely needs it.

Nothing to add other than great. Looks great, sounds great, is great. Feels too easy until you turn off the autopiot thingy then it becomes Wipeout again.

Nice banging soundtrack for maximum volume playing. Money well spent I think - bargain price for the amount of content I assume you get (lots of trophies ).

No problems guys, I want to get the socom headset ideally when that comes out.

You can definately get some close finishes in this though, I scraped a few wins like that.

The online games last night were really good fun. I was torn between online funs and unlocking crap in campaign mode though - has anyone finished that off yet?

The bar for downloadable software has just been raised once again. Absolutely outstanding.

The PSP games were good but the world has been crying out for a home console Wipeout game for too long now and this doesn’t disappoint. The game has a wonderful sense of style from the overall presentation on the menus, to the super slick 60FPS main game with light trails and explosions flying all over the screen, to little touches like the way the sound/music becomes slightly muffled when you activate the shield.

And Zone mode is just wow. Yes it’s been toned down but it still looks amazing The effect of the track details developing as you progress through the zones made my jaw hit the floor.

I feel like I’ve ripped Studio Liverpool off by only paying £11.99 for this.
