It's more like 5pm.. I'm always hopeful it'll be updated before I go to bed here but I always have to wait until friday. The good thing about the Japanese store is it always updates at lunchtime.

On another note it seems like the Koreans have this already! The online lobbies are full of Fury only games originating in Korea.

Loving it so far, though the increased focus on action and combat is taxing the engine somewhat. I've seen more Vsyncing today than I've ever seen in the game (about twice since September, until today), and you can see the dynamic framebuffer kicking in a hell of a lot, especially on the new play modes.

Still loving it to bits, but you can see the game is struggling with the new content.

Its a recommended upgrade imo, but the game is struggling for sure. I can't really scroll too much in the server list, or the game will freeze. Redownloaded and reinstalled everything... no success. But its no big of a deal. I just filter EU games. Enough servers on one screen.

New modes are good, but I prefer the regular racing.

Had some races with Misterbubbles, haven't learned any of the new tracks yet so I've been sticking to venom & flash, and still losing badly! I also tried out the eliminator mode online on one of the old tracks (anulpha pass).. this was great fun! Nothing like doing a 180 flip to unleash rockets into the face of the guy trailing you heheh

I had one go of Zone Battle in the campaign but to be honest i had no idea what was happening, I was going around as per normal zone mode but instead of getting zone announcements she was saying random numbers, I was also stuck in 6th position whatever I did. Then I decided to hit the weapon button to see what happened and boom, my zone changed and I won the event. Huh?

yes held my own against Darwock in races, but got well beaten by the sharks on PSN, and got totally pummelled to death in elimination, thanks Darwock i was usually behind you and ate your rocket sandwich and everybody else's too, hopefully the rest of the NTSC crew can get on tonight cause i need some humiliation. ( guess i need to practice more )

in zone battle you'll need to stock the speed pads until the bar is filled to the max, then unleash for a massive zone increase.

I don't see the use for throwing barriers all the time.

Got the hang of it now, apart from one thing. I was going for that trophy for passing through x barriers, after a while I started to get a warning saying 'target depleted', anyone know why that happens?

(didn't get the trophy btw, I assume that means you have to hit other peoples barriers)

Oh and that Pro Topa zone track is awesome!

Finially got the hang of the new play modes - Eliminator was confusing me for a while.

The focus of Fury is obviously on combat. This was obvious in the trailer, but I underestimated quite how much racing is basically downplayed in the new play modes. I have no issue with this, the new play modes are top fun, and the new tracks can be played in the old play modes too. However, it's not going to convert any F-Zero fans who feel WipEout focuses too much on weapons.

I said in an earlier post that the expansion is pushing the engine, and this becomes more obvious the more you play it. You will see some Vsyncing when playing Eliminator, as well as the dynamic framebuffer kicking in. It seems the dynamic framebuffer isn't enough however, with some extremely intense combat I've played actually causing a noticable drop in framerate.

All the same, it's excellent stuff for £7.99, and an essential upgrade.

well the last time i played wipeout was with the update patch and i needed to delete my save file, i wasnt too happy so really binned wipeout as i'd loads of other stuff to get on with, long and the short of it ive gone back to it and now im loving it ive started both HD and Fury campaigns and are golding most only playing on novice, the update and playing online with Darwock, Juttie and Doodledood has been awesome, the game still looks awesome too me and i think runs great, think of all explosions graphics, people reversing and everything and it still runs mostly at 60 fps, hats off to Studio Liverpool.
the update patch the 1 that screwed up your save file, you know the 1 i mean C'

There was no trophy patch for WipEout HD. It had them from the start.
