Stunning game this, but does anyone have a few tips for surviving those races in stage 8 of HD's campaign? I've got gold on all the time trial events...but finishing a race just seems, well, pretty much impossible.

i had problems with all the races really, resorted to doing them on novice and still for the ones stage 8 was struggling, just keep collecting weapons and absorbing them i guess, sorry if that's not much help, good luck!

Hmmm. Does absorbing weapons top-up your health? If so, that's a massive help.

Finally finished off Fury Campaign today with Feisar. Can't say I've been as engrossed into this as I was the original Campaign, instead going back to it every couple of weeks, hence why it's taken me so long.

Still not completely at ease with the new tracks yet. Modesto Heights and Amphiseum Reverse both have a few awkward bends I'vw not quite mastered (although Modesto Heights Reverse is now one of my favourite tracks).

I got all medals at novice difficulty and it was really noticeable on the non-AI events how much the patch to add easier targets for events like Speed lap, Zone etc. nerfed the challenge. When i got golds on the original campaign the targets on such events were equivalent to the current Elite targets and were incredibly demanding requiring near perfect lines and supreme concentration and decication. On this I picked up golds on my first attempt in most cases.

However, I have gone through the first set of events again on Skilled and was much more satisfying. I've also noticed that the medal designs on the campaign grids are different depending on the level of difficulty you cleared them on. Regular medals for Novice but they have designs etched into them for the Skilled and Elite difficulties so no I feel compelled to get all Elite golds again.

Yeah, I feel the patch didn't nerf the challenge in the slightest - people like you and Darwock still have the Elite times to shoot for whereas people like me who simply cannot drive Phantom competitively at all still get a chance of scooping most of the medals if we put the effort in... it's just everyone will know we had to use the stabilisers. I liked the game before, but one of Wipeout's long-standing faults for me is the upper difficulty levels are solely for the terrifyingly hardcore... the patch was a beautifully thought out way to address this, and I can't praise Sony Liverpool enough for it.

is this is still going to be released on disc form as i cant see it listed in preorder on any sites, think someone mentioned in this thread the date of 16th october for about 19.99 which is a bargain for this.

AFAIK, it is being released in mid October sometime. Few reports from gaming sites have stated the October date, although the lack of online retailers putting it up for sale is slightly worrying.......... Guess, time will tell.

October is such an action packed month for games fo'sho!

So whats with the adverts? I didn't purchase this game with ads in it but now it has them, take them out NOW Sony, ive bought the game and expansion, unless your giving us all a refund with the money the ads brought in.The ads in the walls and structures dont really bother me, just big windows while loading. Discuss.

Ack! Have these ads been patched into the Euro release now then? I was only playing this a month back and there were no ads in it back then.

Intrusive ads have no place in purchased games in my opinion; intrusive ads especially have no place in previously ad-free purchased games. It's a shame this excellent game risks being horribly tarnished by such a thing.
