Just had some strange glitch where a player was stuck behind the goal until the ball went out of play.

Got a picture of it which I'll upload later, he was there for about 5 minutes real time.

Hey that's a FIFA glitch! ....and now a PES glitch? I actually remember my friend having this once on PES2008.

Anyone having much luck with scoring from free kicks? I've yet to score from one

No tips as such, but finding it a lot easier than 08 to score free kicks. Scored a belter with Pirlo earlier, in off the bar!

IMO Pro Evo 3 was easiest to score free kicks in, I remember having loads of replays of them stored on memory cards!

Right, I've just had my first match online and while it seemed to play fine without any major lag, I experienced quite a bit of tearing.

I haven't expereinced any tearing offline though. I'm playing the 360 version by the way.

Heh, no memeory card im afraid - in om the 360 version. To be honest i mainly focused on the English teams as i was about to start the Legend mode and wanted the teams to be as up to date as possible.

Feeling a bit envious of the guys with the PS3 version, simply because of the ability to import MP3s and images. Why cant we do this on the xbox? Bonkers. If anyone finds out about a memory card going round with everything updated on it, let me know yeah?!!!

Anyway, i got stuck in to about 8 games or so in the Legend mode yesterday. Made myself a Support Striker, and spent ages in the edit mode on his appearance. He looks a bit like me i think! Did my trial game, and got three offers, from West Ham, Villa, and Sunderland. I decided to take the sunderland offer, partly because they stated they intended to play me at either CF or SS (the others only had CF), but mainly cos i thought i might have a better chance of making the first team at the lowest ranked club of the three.

So played a few training games, and messed around with the distribution of my 12 strength points to try and get my guy running and dribbling at something resembling pace! After a few games, i made the first team training team, then got called up to the first team bench for the next cup game.

It was 0-0 with 15 mins left when i made my debut at home! (at this point id just like to note that the atmosphere in the stadiums for some games seems way better than previous versions). I manged to put myself about a bit, made a few passes and got a couple of shots in. Then with seconds remaining i made some space on the edge of the box, jinked round a couple of defenders and played the perfect through pass to my strike partner, who slotted home for the win. Happy days! Got man of the match for that sub performance as well. In the following game, i came on at half time against Arsenal, but couldnt stop us losing 1-0, despite getting the most impressive player award. I then started the next game, and rewarded the manager with my first goal, finally beating a keeper for the first time with a low slotted shot having redistributed some training points to my kicking ability.

So, im really liking this mode when it works, that is when the computer plays a passing game with you and picks you out in the box after you have made a great run from deep. Its slightly more frustrating though when your defenders cant seem to hold the ball for toffee, and you dont see much action. Invariably i tend to go chasing after it, meaning my stamina levels drop masively in the second half and i get subbed now after starting. Need to redistribute some points to focus on this area now. Im finding the player development is quite slow though - im hoping maybe as you gain experience the points will rack up more quickly.

Havent tried online yet, but if its the mess it was last year then i will be massively unimpressed. At elast the Legend mode has me interested for now though.

As a random aside, has anyone else noticed how much better the crosses are in this version? They really whip the ball in to danger areas now - ive scored quite a few diving headers in games with my mate.

Yep m8 the crosses are great. Its the reason I ended up playing the demo more and more (and as I got PES09 bought for us on PS3 I couldnt refuse heh) over Fifa 09 because the AI is very weak at getting into the box all the time for you when your attacking. Ive always scored the majority of my goals on W11/PES via crossing into the box but I found it much harder last year on the 360 one and year before. This year on PS3 Im zipping em in.

I've had a couple of games on the PS3, and I'm unsure if I like it or not. It's much, much better than last years though.

The keepers don't seem to dive though, they just seem to spin on a central axis to go from vertical to horizontal, if that makes any sense. In my first game Man Utd had 4 shots on target, and scored 4 goals. I can see the keepers annoying me.

Also, the refs are very scrict, and still very **** if my first two games are anything to go by. In both games the CPU had a man sent off for perfectly good tackles.

Last night, when I played online, I had my keeper sent off for bringing down the opposing striker in the box following a goalmouth scramble. Fair enough if my keeper was the last man but he wasn't.

The refs are random in this game - at times you won't get away with nothing, and at other times the opposition will get away with murder!

Anyone tried the new green 360 pad that has been released alongside this? It actually says on the box something about having an improved d-pad, and is being flogged in gamestation as a limited edition.

I bought it but haven't tried it with PES yet. The d-pad doesn't feel too different though, might feel different when I use it with PES though I suppose.

I'm not sure if this was a national thing or not but was just trading stuff in in Gamestation and they'd had an email through to drop the price on the new pads when I was there.

No idea what the before & after prices were and it may just have been that shop but if you thought they were too expensive earlier it may be worth checking later today to see if they have dropped now.

I was going to buy one lunch time, they were doing a deal for the pad plus play + charge kit for £40, but the price codes hadn't been updated so they couldn't sell me one - genius.

Maybe while you were there the update came through for that? Pad on its own was £32.99.

Absolutly Awful online, not had a single game where thers no lag half the time you cant play coz you expect your player to get the ball and he doesnt and the other player got it instead, offline alot better been playing champions league so good stuff, but hopefully they sort out the lag online or it might take it back.

Omg the screen tearing on the 360 when playing online is rediculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has any one with a ps3 seen this online?

Also I sat in a room with 2v2 written as my room name, and No one even sniffed it!
Nobody even tries to communicate either by typing in the lobby.

I dont seem to be able to zoom the camera out on the wide mode, what am i missing?
