Oh, it is massively cliched, and other than the vacuum segments barely has an original bone in its body - and I do still think this works against it sometimes *cough* turretsgrumblemumblegrumble *cough*
- but overall, Dead Space is just so polished, so lovingly put together it rarely matters. And despite the lack of difficulty on Normal, even without the survival horror aspect it'd still be a really well orchestrated third-person shooter. Other than not being able to handle kinesis as a weapon I've got no complaints with the controls at all. The killcam views in particular are a joy - very, very rarely do they screw up and when they work (when you push something off you and get an automatic hit/kill in) it's visceral beyond anything most other games have ever accomplished.
