Yeah, there seems to be no line of sight or audio based AI at all. All scripted / state based stuff. Easy to code but removes immersion :-(

Not as bad as Ubisoft though:

        "Tango 6 o clock!"

Errr, no actually I killed him 2 minutes ago, before we reached this trigger point.

You can feel conflicted about it. I'll be running around as one

I get the impression they caught a fair amount of flack for the ending. I'm glad they removed it and I'm curious to see how they end that quest.

It's a nice little earner this, although I now find myself messing about comparing the value:weight ratios of knives & suits of armour. Note that if you're over-burdened you can repair equipment to increase its value.

I tried lugging back tonnes of loot each time I finished a quest but in the end I realised it's far quicker and more profitable to just get out there and do some quests. There's money all over the place if you go looking for it.

One of the things I've found with this game actually, is that although it's a real struggle to scrape the pennies together in the beginning, you soon find yourself with more money than you know what to do with. The traders never have any good gear or weapons - you need to find it all in the wastes.

That's good to hear as I never seem to have enough caps.

I've got a kickass Chinese Assault Rifle that was nearing it's last legs and Moira wanted almost 500 caps to repair it which was over half of what I had. I agreed to pay it as it's a sweet weapon (and I could never find any others to use a repair fodder) but it hurt the pocket. I love scavenging though. I even chose the Strong Back perk so I could carry even more crap to sell on.

The Chinese rifle is pretty much a workhorse weapon so it's worth keeping hold of. Ammo is plentiful and it's great for use in the metro tunnels or wastes against feral ghouls and raiders. They're failry uncommon though so make sure you take them whenever you find them and either use them to repair your own rifle or stash them somewhere to use later.

I'm steaming through this now, hit level 20 last night with full evil karma, thanks mainly to what at the time I thought was a game feature, now I realise was a glitch as this particular action can only be used on this one particular npc.

Beat "The Replicated Man" quest and got myself

The android's sweet ass Plasma rifle - went on a bit of a kill with my good buddy Charon, until I realised he was ending up with all of my exp, so he had to go

Currently sat at 3000 caps, after finding the right way to get rid of all of my pre-war books - the fortune finder perk is pretty decent too, at first it was pap but now I've started finding 50+ caps in containers that used to have about 10.

Yeah, it definitely gets used an awful lot which is why I agreed to spend the caps. Probably only use the Combat Shotgun more which is suitably meaty and awesome at close range (seeing heads explode to a close range Shotgun blast in V.A.T.S. is gruesomely satisfying).

I thought about it, but no - given the rather distinct lack of female npcs in the game

Just started playing this the other day and it is finally starting to click after about 5/6 hours playing time. I do hope the landscape picks up a bit later on, theres only so much rocky terrain I can face.
Still, have just discovered the joys of blowing peoples heads off with the shotgun and watching their eyes fly out of the mush that was once their head.
