I had that problem with specific enemies, on the 360, I think mainly beetles which had tiny heads.

Finished the main questline earlier - absolutely dire ending how it's so abrupt, kind of tainted the entire experience a little. Anyway, I made sure to pick up Broken Steel just before I triggered the ending so I have some more work to do yet. Just a bit of a shame that Bethesda couldn't quite unterstand how to handle and ending properly.
I'm currently addicted to collecting bobbleheads - 9/20 so far.

The scoped .44 Magnum is a weapon in Fallout 3. The scoped .44 Magnum is a very high-powered pistol. It has a very long effective range, which is further extended by the scope but also has a low rate of fire for a double-action revolver. There is no recoil when looking through the scope and firing. A fully-repaired Magnum can fire approximately 229 rounds, or 39 reloads, from full condition before breaking. You can also trek straight to Rivet City to pick up a specific Bobblehead (That is at maximum benefit if you pick it up immediately - beware who you speak to at its location though if you don't want to advance the main quest...) and you'll can get a Chinese Assault Rifle there as well.
Megaton is great, I don't think I could destroy it on another playthrough.

I had the exact same problem as you dazza_cole. But after doing this on my second go with the game, it makes it much more enjoyable, as you will always have a place to recover your health and store items.

I've not got access to the Tenpenny Tower suite despite having wiped out both leaders and taken their keys (Ghoul and human).
And for Christ's sake don't kill Martha (the bird in Megaton who runs the Supply). Worst thing I did.
I'm disappointed with the other Vaults that I've found. Thought there'd be more going on. Never mind.
