I think the only things i liked about the demo is hiding on top of the wrecked bus and shooting the astaroth looking zombie whilst he walks around in circles confused, and shooting the megaphone guy whilst he's still on top of that tower thing talking.

Decided to cancel my preorder after playing the demo.

After trying the demo I'm torn about whether to leave RE5 till it's on the cheap. The controls don't bother me, but having another character in tow massively does. The game's corridors are just to narrow to have her constantly clipping alongside you, it just feels unnecessary and takes the isolation out of the scenario. However, the flip side of the arguement is that this is just a demo.

I say that because I got the demo for RE4 before it came out and nearly never bothered with the game because the demo was atrocious, the games just aren't structured well for trialling and also Capcom is pretty useless at picking the best sections to use for them.

I do agree that this seems to ba a game where you REALLY need to play co-op.

I was quite annoyed by not being ably to pick anybody off my friends list for online co-op. I just got loaded into a random game with someone, likewise if you host a game you just get a random stranger.

If i cant pick friends off my list for online co-op in the final game then its a lost sale for me. I hope someone confirms that you can in the final game.

It will be interesting to see how many people that didn't like the demo will be actually buying the game on release

Like many, I hated the demo but will probably buy the game.

I used to think Capcom one of the best videogame developers in the world, but their method of injecting tension into the game by crippling the player's controls is, quite frankly, pathetic. I dunno, I can't help thinking most Japanese developers are stuck in the past, but then that's a whole different argument...

I will be buying it regardless.

I also won't be playing the demo any more. Remember RE4 was all about weapon upgrades as well so it is likely that the weapons you have at these two points in the game will be more suitable when you play through tfrom the beginning yourself.

I am still confident I will love it. I hearted RE4 very much - even with the controls the experience was just so far above anything else at the time. If RE5 manages 80% of that with a new story and new graphics - I'll be happy.

I love how some of these dudes can take multiple bullets to the face and carry on coming, give them a pussy-stomp to the shoulder though and it's instant death.

Haha. Almost as patheic as the way enemies come running towards you full pelt but then, when just a few feet away, change their pace to a very slow walk. It's like wtf?

Thats something I cant understand at all.

When they run at me my first instinct is to run backwards & start unloading ammo at them but Capcom deemed fit to make it so that chris is unable to do 2 things at once, but then they stop charging & start a slow saunter towards me which seems stupid...it's almost as if they've lost the urge to kill you & now just fancy a nice chat instead.

It was fine in all the other RE's when I didnt know any better but now it's just not on.

This game sounds awful, the controls are horrid, the tearing is abysmal. What's with that woman following you about? Why oh why can't you walk and shoot, no ammo, awful inventory, ****e location. The demo didn't really drag me in, I loved 4 but this just feels CLUNKY.

Does anyone know where can I pre-Order the special edition?

Is there no way around this? The only reason I would buy this would be to play with my brother. Otherwise, I just don't care.

I'm guessing it's just for the demo. The full game will allow you to play with whoever you like.

To play with friends on the demo, I think it's the screen where you choose to either host or join a game, the top option above those two allow you to set the game to friends-only.

The host can then use the XBox button to invite friends to the game.

That's how my friend and I tested the game on the CLUNK-o-METER

I think most people are upset because they wanted the demo to be as exciting as our memories of the previous games were. It's not that we want to dislike it, it's that we're being pushed to.

People who are saying they're preordering after disliking it are hoping that the demo isn't a true reflection of the final game and that Capcom will come up with the goods.

It's not supposed to be realistic!

Why, in gears of war, can't I run toward a low crate and just jump over it? Why do I have to slam my shoulder into it, take cover for a second and then vault over it? Oh yeah, because that's how the game was designed.
