the gist here is that people love it, and i tend to agree. i still miss the parry system of third strike and find myself sometimes taping forward instead of block, resultingly get a punch in the face, but i'll get used to it.
i have found getting into lobbies a tad difficult as i press connect and then it comes up with not able to play.
i also miss the hdr group space with spectators, if they add that via a patch then i'll be buzzing.
one thing that is starting to grate is the commentator, does anyone know if and how you can shuthim up?

I was wondering about the commentator, too. In the videos he drove me barmy but when I'm playing it I can barely notice him so I haven't looked. Maybe in the volume settings?

For people who cheese focus attack on get up, just do a special that breaks armor (Dragon punch etc), or use quick recovery on forehand and get out.

I havent posted much on first play, but thats beacuse I love this game so damn much to put it down.

Its absolutely incredible and im pretty poor at street fighter too. I've completed most of Ryu's Hard challenge mode now (I know most of you are irritated at the sight of Ryu/Ken but he's served a good purpose to teach me basics and using a stick)

The TE stick is excellent - I havent been able to use sticks until now, things are clicking into place.

I could never do dhalsims teleport in the old SF days but I find it effortless now with the stick.

I'm pleased generally with my stick, the Y button is now absolutely fine and the stick only occasionally sticks now. I'll still be replacing it but it does the job for the moment. I'm loving playing pacman with it though!

No, I just won't have this. No. Me and Rufus have been training and match making online together. We're starting to get somekind of understanding. Yes he's a chatterbox and seems like he's all talk/belly and no fight, but we've been rocking his Galactic Tornados and Messiah kicks with msome decent success. His EX Galactic Tornado is just leet.

Can anybody give me any hints for the first hard Zangief trial? It's focus attack -> quick double lariat -> focus cancel -> EX banishing flat. I can do most of it, but I can't get the banishing flat to contact before Dan hits the floor. I'm guessing I need to dash out of the focus cancel, but I still can't see how to get the last attack out in time. Even looking at a video didn't help, as I couldn't really see what was going on at that point.

These focus cancels are a git to do in the middle of a combo. I did this by doing it for ages until all the motions became etched into my mind. I did each stage of the combo bit by bit. So, I just did the first 3 moves for a while until I felt confident, then concentrated on Lariat > Focus Cancel.... then Lariat > Focus Cancel to EX B.Flat.

The problem I found I was having was when it came to the Focus Cancel I would end up performing the entire animation and forget to dash out, instead going straight into EX.BFlat.

Then I just rinsed doing the whole combo until fed up, then try again later. I did it in the end. I've now done all Gief's Hard on both PS3 and 360. I'm such a big head.

As a bit of a joystick noob i've just taken delivery of my TE from PLAY. Wow! I had no idea what a difference it would make! The game has just come alive for me now and online I won my first 5 matches. Can't wait to get good with this thing...

I've not had many Ranked matches yet but so far had a couple of Ryu, Ken matches but also a few Cammy. I'm gonna get my Chunners in better shape before play as a shoto so there will be at least 1 of us out there. Add me if you want a change of pace.

I'm balrog all the way at the moment. I think the stick works well with chargers personally.
Echo your sentiments though on the ken ryu fest. It's irritating but like you said, it does make them predictable

I've found i'm performing far, far, FAR better with the 360's analogue stick than I am with a Hori Fighting Stick EX2!

Just had a word with Bleeders on MSN - Realised it's the square gate on it that's stopping me from doing QCF's on left hand side! Switched to pad and i'm winning games now.

I see SFIV has driven the price of sticks into the stratosphere, my 360 Hori one was only £20 in GS, it's now selling for over £60 on Ebay with the better TE stick going for up to £300! WTF!?
