The hard trials are indeed very difficult. The normal trials not so much though, I find. There are a couple that are hard to do towards the end of the normal trials though.

I did but I just found that disorientating as I wasnt looking at the fight... and it still didnt work anyway...

Maybe I'm just rubbish, but the challenge mode seems to have been designed with no one but absolubte ninjas in mind from what I can see. And I think even they would struggle.

I've managed 3 of Kens 'hard' trials on Gamepad - I'm out of commission now though as my thumb has a blister on it from those hours of attempts.

The problem i've found is it's rare I even get to use a proper combo online as people are jumping about spamming fireballs half the time.

Seth Killian of Capcom said that if you can complete the Hard Trials (probably with ease and not with luck/spending a week on one) then you're up there with tourney playing folk.

To be honest, that's a great idea, good to know and an excellent incentive. Yes, they are feckin solid and have probably put a lot of people off and frustrated them so much they feel cheated or something, but to those who love a challenge, it's good fun.

Not finding them easy myself, but they're good to spend about 20 mins on. I've only managed to fully complete Zangief's Normal and Hard trials so far. You get some nice avatar icons to use online for your persistence. I don't think that makes me good enough to play in any tournaments, mind. Far from it.

Looking forward to attempting the rest of the hard trials once my stick shows up.

The trials are there to teach, funnily enough. Thing is, I think most people just pull one off and move on without practising it so don't feel the benefit. Not all of them will be particularly useful (in the sense many find them extremely difficult to do), but the option is there should you want to try it. Most of them are pretty good though, if only you can find a way to open up the opponent for them - and therein lies the game.

Anyone got any idea how to actually hit someone with Zangiefs headbutt? Getting on my nerves now, doesn't seem to hit the person stood still?

Isn't it an aerial move to be used against opponents jumping in?

Question: Is there any skill involved to using Abel? Every time I face him being AI controled, he'll just sit there and spam the same pussy **** spin throw type ****, doesn't matter what difficulty it is either. I started on default and he would spam that, so I tried a harder difficulty assuming the cpu would just spam ultra attacks out of it's arse instead. NOPE, just sits there throwing me and I can't for life of me counter it

I think he's a bit like Zangief in the sense that he punishes opponents best when they're within range. You may have notice that if you get near Gief on a decent difficulty he will amazingly have got you in a spinning pile driver when it looked odds on that you were about to do a dragon punch

I had this trouble when I first started. If you time your reversal perfectly you can plant a special move on him but it may be safer to simply backdash (which is what Hoolak recommended to me when I struggled) and it is of great benefit.

I think there are 8 frames of invulnerability with the back dash so it's a very valuable tool

It's in challenge mode, but it won't work as the other guy is stood still.

Try standing right in front of Dan, jump straight up and on the way down, pull off the move.
