True that. If it's in the game anything goes. Therefore if I choose Zangief don't hate me! (I think he's becoming the new Ken tbh!)

Some people (not here may I add) can't seem to get their heads around the fact that the game makes the rules, not the player. Some other forums in particular seem to house some very bad losers.

not in a millions yrs i gief becomin the new ken

he's a character that requires a little more patience to get the best out of and generally speaking most games are a challenge with him as the name of the game is to get in as close as you can to deal damage. This aspect i like - the challenge of avoiding projectiles etc. The more your opponent keeps backing into their corner the better, you have them, you have them where you want them you just need to get in close

Ken on the other hand is a waste of space and frankly boring to play with and seems to attract idiots

Ah I had my first online Ken match today. I mean the first ken i have met online that is, yes, he beat me but only due to my own ineptitude i think, that shoryuken has a good reach, poor landings from me doesnt help, learning move priorities is a huge lesson
although I game cammy a good stomping with lord bison!

I dont mind Kens... At the moment its Akuma/Sagat players that just throw fireballs all over the place crossing up and using teleport (with Akuma) to keep themselves at distance.

I've beaten a few of them but when someone is really proficient with Akuma and his air fireball, teleport and other such weaponry its hard to compete with some characters. Admittedly I suck at times and get impatient but I get bored cancelling out fireballs, using Focus to absorb them and in the end the switch in my head flicks to overload and I wade in trying for some close quarters combat.

Still Im loving the game regardless. Even if you do come up against a few people like that Im finding most are now mixing up characters and thats what keeps it fresh.

Of the few games I have had I have yet to play as either ken or ryu but would play them all the time many years ago, now I mess around with other characters just for the hell of it

Thisis like crack online very one more go. Think I need to spend some time getting to grips with all the characters as I usually come a cropper fighting unfamiliar characters such as vega and viper

I don't mind which characters other people use, when they are in the game they should be used.
I haven't played a StreetFighter game since Aplha on the PS so I also started with the characters I still knew a little, and that were also Ken and Ryu, now I see that when you know how to play with Ken and Ryu you can also learn more easily other characters like Sakura, Akuma, Gouken, Sagat, Dan etc. At the moment I have more problems to play with characters like Guile and Balrog that use chargemoves, I just don't have the timing yet to stand a chance with them...
All should play they feel comfortable with, some people know the game from inside out and others just want to have go once in a while... Nobody should feel guilty using Ken.

The only thing I hate is when another player is standing at one side of the screen and just shoot fireballs all the time without actually fighting, but I can't complain about it, it's in the game and it's up to me to deal with it (it is bloody annoying though!)

I really start to like this game more and more, I'm learning every online session lots of new things as well. For me this is the best fighting game I played in a long time.

Recently I've been accidentally triggering my taunt instead of my focus attack. I wish you could turn the taunt off completely as it's probably made me look like an arrogant prick a couple of times.

I thought you could. Can't you set the personal action to "none" or something like that?

You can re-map the buttons for the taunt, I have mine set to the LB button on my stick so it's miles away from anything I'm likely to hit by accident during a match.

Ta for the tips guys, I'll certainly be doing one or the other

I have actually never had that problem, personally. I rarely ever accidentally hit both strongs XD

I taunt all the time, usually when I'm trying to do a super/ultra

It happens most when I'm relaxing a bit and have the joystick nearer my knees on my lap. If I angle the joystick a bit I don't press HP+HK when trying to just press HP.

At least now you can move/jump out of the taunt

Can't say I've ever accidentally taunted. I imagine it to be hard to do, to be honest. Are you all mashing?
