Eep! Upgrading all weapons in this game is going to take FOREVER!

Glad this thread popped up again - quick question!

Anyone here have the gold edition on 360? Just wondering if all the extras are on disc or are DLC cards?

(Might have asked this before but can't for the life of me remember!)

I haven't opened mine yet but on the back of the case (Gold Edition for Xbox 360 that is) it says it includes a download token for add-on packs and extra costumes.

Ah right, thanks for the info

            It's a DLC card on 360, disc on PS3

Been trying to do this on professional recently, single player - on my own, it's not going well!

I'm thinking of picking up the gold edition to sample the extra content. I was very unimpressed by the original release main game. Is there any reason to pick up the 360 version over the PS3 one? The only thing that would sway me is already having the 360 save file.

I don't think there are any major differences are there? Content is the same for sure.

only performance differences I guess from what I recall from comparison sites.

Think you have to play though (or up to a certain part) of the main game before you can play the DLC episodes

Anyone know if RE 5 Gold (360) will use my completed save file from the RE5 standard edition? I really don't want to play the main game again, I just want the extra episodes...

I've read horror stories here that it does not so I decided to keep my standard edition and pay for the DLC instead.

Oh dear, I suppose I'm better off getting the ps3 version then considering the extra content is on the disc and I can flog it when I'm done with it.

I'm a wee way in and I have yet to really form a view one way or the other. On the one hand I'm liking the story, the setting and some of the set pieces have actually made me panic and run away to hide in the corner to regroup. On the other the control just feels wrong after having played ACII before this.

I can see myself enjoying the content and playing through a few times each time with better weapons etc.

re: the new equipment system, I can see what they were trying to achieve and for that I applaud the attempt. However for single player it utterly ruins the tactical element of conserving ammo, right choice of equipment for the stage etc. In terms of an online co-op repeat play experience, it lends itself very well I feel.

I can definitely feel the love to a degree and you can see how they tried to build upon RE4/use it as a template.

As yet I'm not convinced they succeeded.

After having played a fair bit more, I've decided I really like this game. I even got used to the controls after a while. Had lots of fun replaying levels and upgrading weapons etc. Will probably even complete on professional (if I can).

Online Co-op is great as well.

I am firmly in the 'thumbs up' camp, I cannot really understand the hate to be honest.

As others have also said in this thread, playing it Co-op on professional difficulty is absolutely fantastic. I really really enjoyed doing that, probably the most enjoyable online gaming experience i've had
