It's two separate ones as Taka described. The
knife through the heart one is for the Lickers.
The Heart of Africa is just an unique treasure that appears during the
Jill fight
but only if you manage to inflict enough damage to Wesker before the seven minutes are up and get him to call it quits.
Dunno if that helps explain things.

okay - maybe i never explained it enough
the achievement i was after was:
Heart Stopper
The way it explains it on my Xbox360 was that you had to defeat an enemy with your Knife by stabbing it in the heart, this i assumed was Wesker since you can have the old cut scene shenanigans at the end, which was obviously incorrect
but as i posted 3 posts ago a forumite told me via pm who the enemy was
so i'm sorted now - until i try and stab a
licker
to death

I finished this over the weekend.
It's a massive dissapointment really. Resident Evil 4 was close to perfection in my view and this game not only fails to improve on it but is actually worse.
All atmosphere is eradicated
on the boat and giving the zombies guns was a horrible decision
. There's no sense of isolation, no sense of being an outsider once you get out of the swamp and, aside from the swamp, there was never any exploration at all, all point A to point B (occasionally in a giant room with lots of keys to collect). It's just a bog standard action game really.
The co-op is fun online but you miss out on the appriciaiton side of things as there's pressure to move as fast as possible and whoever thought co-op QTEs were a good idea needs to be shot. There are a lot of bosses that are incredibly hard single player because they're designed to be fought with one character either side (the AI always follows you), the AI won't use weapons intelligently (always uses the weakest weapons, never uses grenades but always fills her inventory with them).
The boss battles were incredibly forgettable and took too long. All of them involved shooting at the glowing weakspot.
Glad the series will be getting a reboot. This was ok but they lost what made RE4 such a good game.

They are, they take an insane beating.
my advice is to use a shotgun on them as it's one of the best weapons for making them stagger backwards and it'll also prevent hit other enemies around and behind him. Takes about 8 hits from a strong shotgun so make sure you time the reload well. Usually they're well flagged as coming and have to run from a distance so you could take a few pot shots with the rifle while he's trying to get to you.

after putting around 50 hours into the 360 version i bought this for the PS3 and played it through on Normal straight away
its a bit of a challenge on Normal with weapons that havent been upgraded especially the item management
on the 360 i started on Amateur and even played level's 3-1 and 3-2 through multiple times so i could get loads of gems to get the upgrades prior to moving onto Normal
but certainly a stronger challenge playing on Normal straight away and i managed to complete it in just under 6 hours, whereas i can do the 360 version with super upgraded weapons in just over 2 hours
after replaying some levels on normal with infinite MP5 and Dragonov i now have the infinite launcher
for me this game certainly has flaws, but the good overrides the bad and its the game i've spent most time on since Dead Rising

I started no Veteran having finsihed RE4 over 10 times inc professional, and I think it offered the right amount of challenge for a first time, was quite dificult at some bits but manageable

Just finished this, poor, disappointing, are two words that come to mind.
I don't know what I was expecting really, I kept waiting for something cool to happen, and it never did. Every scenario was forgettable. I did like some tweaks they provided over RE4 but a lot was stripped out too. Sigh.
Me and modern games are growing apart for sure, another game with a 2 second ending and a 10 minute credit roll.
Looked nice in certain parts I guess. was a good action game but honestly, zombie soldiers with guns. great. (yes I know they weren't zombies before anyone comments)

Agree totally Kernow.
The zombies with guns and cover mechanic were the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. Up until then it was just a sequel which failed to advance RE4 in the right way.
Only the bit in the swamp (even if it did OD on the drawbridge and switches) did the game at any time feel like a proper followup to RE4. Was also one of the only bits with a feel that you were exploring.

The single player, if you can even call it that, was a big disappointment, and so was co-op. After much pestering, I finally wore down my mate to get a copy so we could have a giggle with it, but after playing the first couple of levels we both give up on it out of sheer boredom, and never went back.
It was like playing Gears of War in slow motion, and severely lacking in the laughs department too. What pissed me off the most was that I had unlocked unlimited ammo for the shottie and handgun on my previous playthrough, and was looking forward to Rambo-ing it up with a decent partner, but for some reason it wouldn't let us use them. Pfft.

I've finally picked this up (I'm not a Resi fan at all). Only played through to after 1-2 at the moment, but I'm really quite enjoying it, in spite of the controls (I left them at default).
Looks fantastic anyway and I really like the way the cut scenes are directed (Intro was great as well). If anyone is playing through this at the moment on PS3, let me know and we can give the co-op a go.
