this shouldnt really need a spoiler

they appear in the store available to buy

    they are 50,000 each

playing through on Vet now and just about to start chapter 5-1 and so far all S ranks

just upgraded the handcannon to infinite ammo and its almost twice as powerful as the magnum

but once you ahve the infinite launcher things just like to blow up

chapter 4-1 on Vet caused me some issues but mainly due to my partner, the bit where the bridge collapses, i was speared and about to die and she was just around the corner, but the computer AI still showed me as across the bridge so even though i could see her, she wouldnt help me and i just died - thanks

The long bow and gattliong gun appear in the store when you fully upgrade the VZ-something machine gun (found in first level) and the first rifle you get (that has 50 ammo capacity when full)

Had some company this weekend and as such ploughed through a couple of additional playthroughs, netting us both the 1000 score on this. All in all I've enjoyed this a lot - I know a lot of people feel it's not a particularly natural evolution and I'd agree in places - most notably chapter 6, and where the 'inspiration' from MGS + Gears (amongst others) becomes rather forefront, but it still feels a lot like a Resi game at heart to me. Plus I'm always a big fan of the way these work - your first playthrough being really tight for ammo, struggling from one bit to the next at a snail's pace, to then having your other ones with you all fully tooled up with infinite ammo and souped-up gear, belting through it in lightning-quick time on the top difficulties. Top fun.

finished it on Veteran (All S rank) and i was quite happy until Professional mode opened up

played the first chapter on professional and i dont think i will play this much

basically you still have to fill the enemy will loads of bullets, but its 1 hit from them and you're dead, even the dying only lasts around 1 second so if your partner isnt right beside you - you die

          had fun with it though

Fully-upgraded weapons and infinite ammo evens things up, especially if one of those weapons is the rocket launcher. You should also be familiar with the levels by now so you've no excuses.

              more worried about fighting
              - can imagine that being a nightmare

and the baddies normally get a lucky arrow in which hits me

Yes, that section buster you mentioned is frustratingly bad (in singleplayer using AI) since they will always go and take them on, rather than hide. because a bullet will more or less kill you.
I eventually had to resort to a cheapish tactic using the rocket launcher to get past the first stage of that fight. Then mainly a bit of luck to get past the second part.

most frustrating part is Sheva, but using wide weapons like the shotgun might be more effective

on 1-2 i killed the blonde girl boss and a guy ran in so quick i couldnt follow him with the gun (handcannon) and he sliced Sheva who died instantly

i dont think i will play it as i will just trash my controller, 2-3 must be a nightmare as well if 1 molotov cocktail kills you

going to try and speed run Amateur, my time is around 3hrs 15mins, whereas my time on normal is 2hrs 55mins

                    Yay.

I managed to get the bow arrow this (early) morning.

It's good fun AND has unlimited amount of bows too, which is a bonus!

I got an S-rank on Veteran mode during the final battle against Wesker and on my first time too.

I really enjoy this game - much more than I firstly did - but why Capcom handed over AK-47s to the baddies during chapter five and six is beyond me. It doesn't suit the game; I would rather the later baddies rush at you with the stun rods or pulling the pin off the grenade and hurdle straight at you.

Reapers? Yeah, shoot the yellow bit on the abdomen when they reveal it. Back away until they do so. Upgraded magnum can kill them in one shot IIRC.

For Reapers, use an electricity round to stun them and expose the weak points for an easy kill.

For the end of 5-3 on professional, use flash rounds to stun her then restrain her from behind. Your AI partner will now shoot the device and you can throw her. Do not attempt to pull the device off when she is on the ground, instead take up position behind her head and mash square as she stands up. You will now go straight back into restrain mode and the AI will shoot the device again. Loop this tactic 6 times, and only then attempt to pull the device off and it should come off first time.

They are still a right bugger to take down on Veteran where they open their chest to reveal the white abdomen for the briefest of moments whereas on Normal, they are exposed for more than four-five seconds.

They are cheeky buggers in chapter five part three where you have to defeat three or four of them in a space of five minutes. If they get you - and kill you in the process - you are taken right back to the entrance of the place...

Sheva and Chris are armed with two Hawk Magnums with unlimited ammo. It is such a blast and jolly good laugh to boot. I carry Sheva's bow arrow along with me too as they are pretty much one-hit kills 80% of the time.

I prefer playing as Sheva since the left hand aim is more natural for me; I genuinely reckon that more games nowadays should give you the option of a left or right gun touting position.

Oh, I found the last treasure too, which I would have never got if it wasn't for the help of a guide - no matter how hard I resisted!

infinite launcher, just fire it and blam, no more reaper

That bit with Nedesu on Professional is just awful - I wasn't a fan of the whole sequence to start with, but on Pro it's as much fun as having Lady Sovereign kick you in the nuts repeatedly whilst she's wearing extended tip Winklepickers.

Capcom can be a bit cheap with the old boss fights but giving them a one hit kill (the boulder) that you can't stop is just lame in the extreme. I don't mind a challenge but play fair for crying out loud!
