LOL, I just walked up to them and stabbed them and kept on walking. Surely, people would be running away, but they weren't.
I was trying to be way too technical over it I guess.
"Stand up on a ledge, kill, flee to a safe position, then try again".
Surely, that shud be a little more stealthy :P

It's really clicked with me now, the controls, the structure..everything. Loving it
Only thing I didn't like was one of the early missions in
the hospital area
- some crazy guys kept pushing me into the guards which would set them all onto me ruining my mission! I'd also say that so far doing all the investigations hasn't helped me in the slighest in escaping or doing the hit, I know maps of guard patrols are available in the menues but I've not once had to refer to them...

Game Im finding sheer moments of brilliance let down by tedium. Theirs some fantastic moments but Id already got burned out doing everything on the first map as I got nowt for it. From 2nd one I do whats necessary and some help missions so they help me in return later on. Im on the third one now and its made it better for me doing it this way.
After the initial amazement of how it looked at played it soon quickly for me made me reliased their is a heck of a lot missing and they havent polished or tweaked to what it could have been. This could have been a 10/10 easily but for me the stealth is abit of a joke, walk slow fine even if you been murdering everyone around that corner. Id rather all guards chase me from the off unless I hide rather that then my own country attack me for running or walking/bumping into someone (could understand it from the crusaders). You dont have to play this stealthy at all and you really can break the game quite easily for this.
I play it stealthy and go up to them give em a quick shiff on a roof then wander off for a archer and when I play it like that it works, its just when the odd occasion I get tired of slowly walking and run about their crap I can become ninja Daz kill everyone and anything with just countering, climb better than Spiderman (the climbing is way too easy theirs no challenge to it) and then just hide in a open area and Im off high alert from killing 10blokes.
For me the game shines fantastic when you get to the actual assination and after effects of high alert. For me the game should be like that all the time if you kill a guard they should close everywhere up and hunt you down then it would be a proper assassin game, as it is its run about kill eveything and no penalty at moment for me and those sub missions are boring as hell even the eagle ones give no challenge.
They could have done so much with this, made it Thief in 3rd person (ie rope arrows and the like) but its just spiderman with swords. Im going to finish it for the sake of it but the more I play it the more it aggrevates me that with a bit more love and polish this game could have gone from a very average 6-7 score from me on first play to a high 9/10. Biggest disapointment of the last 2yrs for me!

Yup you're right you don't have to play it stealthy at all, that is actually the draw of the game as you can play it anyway you choose. You can choose to be very stealthy or you can run about and kill everything in sight. The kill everything and run approach will result in a gaming experience where you are being chased alot though and later on in the game you won't be able to get away very easily.
You might be finding the countering "easy" now but later on in the game I suspect you might not find it all that easy. Also it depends what guards you are up against, the higher ranked guards also feint attacks and break your block so it is harder to time your counters against them. The climbing/free running is an ability you have, yes you can use it to your advantage but it is far from unbalances the game as the guards also have the same abilities. They might not be as "perfect" as yours but that is because you are said to be a super agile assassin, again it is actually one of the important mechanics of the game. It would be like saying it why can Master Chief jump so high or why can mario get all these abilities? You get off high alert because you killed the 10 guys who were chasing you I presume. And you can only get off high alert if you are not in plain sight of an enemy, if there is something blocking there view then they won't see you. Then you go into a low state of alert and the only way you can get rid of that is by blending with the monks, sitting calmly on a bench or hiding in one of the compartments on the rooftops.

Really starting to get into the mechanics of the combat now, mixing up short sword / throwing knives with the long sword and the guards dont know what is going onspot a group of guards, throwing knife into lead stray guard, hidden blade into first of the group then engage the rest with long sword before fleeing onto the roofs and switching to my throwing knives to take out any one who gets to close in front of me... cant get enough of it TBH. Its the most wondefully detailed and epic gaming environment I have ever seen.
