Has anyone actually downloaded Steam yet? I tried it yesterday and wasn't very impressed. It ruined my HL installation and seemed really buggy (constant timeouts and crashing). I'd try and start a game (say CS) and it would tell me it was going to download some files, and then it would just hang. The game browser wasn't a patch on something like ASE and didn't support a lot of mods (It couldn't find servers for The Specialists). I ended up doing a full re-install of HL + mods and wiping Steam.

That's not really a proper dx 9 benchmark nips (very little dx 9 shaders - it's all dx 8 )
Try thishttp://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archi...hdribl_1_2.zip (dx 9 cards only)

Don't know what I'm gonna do with my HL2 pre-order, cause I definatly want SP+MP on day 1. Might just cancel if they don't update us or something and then just buy it in the shops where I can see the boxes for myself.

It just seems that this is getting too silly with all the mutliplay / single player options.
Just bundle the whole thing together and be bloody done with it
My concern at the moment is what I do with my graphics card. I'm going to upgrade ( was going to get a Geforce FX 5900 Ultra- not anymore ) and have plumped to get an all singing all dancing Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB
Now I find that the 9800XT is being touted for the same day as the Half-Life 2 Alcatraz launch ( apparently on the 30th of this month ) and that its this card the game will be bundled with
No more details as to wether the card / game bundle will also be in stores by 30th, or if the game that comes with its is just single player
ARGH ! This is all too much !
Secrecy is one thing but this is just messing with peoples heads !
