Update: For all of you rabid fans sitting in front of a computer right now reading this and counting down the final seconds to release - just got confirmation from Doug Lombardi that "Half-Life 2 will be made available just after midnight (PST) tonight". Tick tock.

I'm so primed to dive into Half-Life 2 now and ultimately just escape within a brilliantly conceived world. Indeed Inetria.

Thought I'd check in and see how its going

I haven't got a copy of the game yet and I woke up at 3.00 this morning unable to sleep !

I haven't been this excited about a game ever before in my life ( I'm trying not to dwell on it too much as I'll realise how sad it is )

OOOhhhhh baby i just unpacked a create of stella into the fridge. And im ready to go for 8 am. Come to dady hl2. On a side note anyone read the review on ign, good read also theywhere running the game of a 9800 pro looks like the old girl still has what it takes. And there was me doubting her and thinking of buying a 6800gt ultra today pfft.

Its amazing to think that here we are, a year and a bit down the line from when I started this thread and its finally here. The day that some thought might never happen ( and at some points it seemed so far away I almost agreed with them).

Its been an a real up and down experience without a doubt, but its been fun chewing the fat about this game and it'll certainly be remembered as much for the last years events as the gaming experience it's self.

Bring on teh Freeman !

I'll be doing a Nips myself soon, i.e. not coming back to this thread until the game is done and dusted hopefully in a continous sitting today. I plan to take my time with it, savour the experience and gradually make my way through. However, when I've authenticated Half-Life 2 online I'm going underground, so this will probably be one of my last posts for a while.

It's been a great ride everyone and the quality of discussion has been fantastic. Hopefully, it's about to get a hell of a lot better.

Oh, and when I come back, Spatial make sure the gameplay conversation is still in this thread and not in some alternative one, okay?
