Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 (PES 2010) [360/PS3/PC]

I thought it was easy on Top Player, but started to get beat or draw lots in ML, but I think this is due to being forced to rotate my squad. To be honest, I'm bored of playing the AI. I think Konami have lost touch hailing this TeamVision thing. It didnt work last year and same this year. It's happening in PS2 versions too. Boring AI. Who like to keep the ball more than attack.

I'm read on PES Fan that some reckon Professional difficulty is harder than Top Player.

Ive been playing with the difficulty settings today and completely agree. On professional the AI seem to sit really deep and just play so much keep ball, i was really struggling to break them down and create chances. On top player they at least come at you more, so you can find more space behind the defence.

Saying all that, im actually finding this the most difficult PES in a while! Im not sure if its me trying to play it 'wrong', or persisting with tactics that have worked in the past, but im finding my Master League a real struggle at times. Im not actually losing games, but im having to work so hard to carve out chances its painful at times. Maybe i should just blame it on the Spurs team!

I found with Fifa moving up fro pro to world class made me a much better player as the cpu attacks more.

I always play my Pro Evo's on the highest difficulty settings. Im finding the AI annoying on this one though.

Might just have to take it online more (seeing as it seems to be working well) and play with friends.

If you have the PC version theres a nice little tool that enables superstar difficulty..

There are bugs in the master league mind, i have 2 sponsors that pay a bonus on games unbeaten and winning 5+, you get the first bonus money but when it goes to the next one it resets what you just got and adds the 2nd lot of money. Also i cant seem to buy any players atm, i have ?250million and cant get any players in, im ranked 2nd in the world too.

I think i'll restart it when someone does an option file update with Championship sides in it and its daft playing made up named teams.

Im just under halfway through the season and am 3rd. This is on top player playing 5 mins matches. My problem is scoring. I havent lost yet, but i get so many goalless draws. To be honest i know i should take the timer up to 10 minutes, but then it takes forever to get through the leagues!

The issue for me though is that i just feel restricted in the way i can play, having to use the same tactics every time in order to score. Can anyone recommend good formation settings that work on this perhaps?

It can be hard work against the AI and to be honest like the past couple of games I don't think this TeamVision thing works. Either the guy who worked on PES up until 6 was replaced or I dunno, to me that was the last fun game against the AI. I've even been feeling it against the AI on the PS2 WE versions. Anywaaaay...

Formation-wise, I definately stay away from the lone striker business, unless you've told 3 midfielders to shoot up for support. Try using the Asissted slider settings in Game Plan. I always set my play style (bottom option) to 4 > Attack Minded.

When you're on the attack notice that in this the AI likes to back off when someone with a bit a skill is running thtough the centre. Use this time get support. If you're running out of room and still need support, try tapping R1 to stop the ball. Here you can do some dribbling or turn and face other way to put your back into a pressing defender. When your support arrives try a give and go (Hold L1 and then pass). This will make you player run and also probably take the defender with him. I find that the give and go play a big part in attacks, but be careful not to over use it. Use a good mix up of give n go, putting your foot on the ball into moving of fast again or pass.

I'm just typing as I think here and it's no real succes tip, but it's how I play. It may fail you, you may already be playing like that My two pee.

I seem to remember that, back in PES 5, the online stuff split players into divisions.

Does PES2010 still do this?

Can someone PM me the details of how this worked (how it managed the divisions, how did it rank someone who had a 100% record but played only 10 games against someone who'd played 200 games but only won half of them, for example).

The divisions are still there. They have been right through since back then.

I think you move or stay in a division based on your current overall points score at a certain point of a week (as the leagues update).

I always used to be a 10min man, but on last years version i just wanted to get through it!

I'll go back to 10 mins and see how that goes.

I was playing some truely magnificent stuff, sweet one touch pass and move stuff, im Spurs but was playing like Barca all morning.

David Villa up front is a god.

Scored some cracking team goals too, you guys should have heard me, neighbours must have wondered what i was doing

I even lost to UTD 4-1 but at 2-1 down i had them pinned in for a good 5mins(real time), hit post and bar and keeper made mental saves, they broke away twice in last 5 mins for the win but it was fantastic.

When this game clicks with you it really is an awesome experience, and today i have never felt so good about ANY PES game.

Gotta calm down so have put on Seven Pounds to get me back to reality.

Edit: Just noticed that the PS3 symbol on the side of the box is diferent to all my other games, i much prefer it.

Spider-man PS3 logo for me all the way. Your impressions make me wanna play it so bad the wait is killing me. Sounds like great fun if it does click, and also seems there are lots of opportunities for different styles of play which interests me as a bit of a tactics whore recently
