As with all PES games you proberly wont like it at the start.

Ive clocked over 50hours on it now and am loving it.

Could be a Konami problem. I had a similar problem with GTAIV recently and it turns out Rockstar were messin with something. Was o.k a few days later.

Ah its good to be back!

I fired this up again last night determined to figure out why i wasnt enjoying it. I spent a bit of time properly setting up my formation to refelct my favoured style of play, and settled on a 4-3-3 with Defoe and Keane wide of Crouch as the central frontman. I also went back to my usual 10 mins match settings, and had a good play with the attack and support sliders to see the effects of changing each.

The result was some spankingly good wins against the likes of Man U, and an end to the annoying 0-0 draws. Suddenly i have players supporting the man with the ball, making runs to the wings and giving me options which i just feel like i didnt have before (when i was simply having to run at a wall of defenders with one man). I scored some cracking team goals and have risen to the top of the table once again.

Like Del Boy says, when this game clicks its brilliant. Theres nothing better than a huge spell of possession, peppering the opposition goal with shots and crosses, before finally breaking them down with seconds remaining. Lovely stuff.

Looking forward to playing again tonight already. Im half way through the first Master League season now, and fighting it out with Arsenal for glory (level on points). With Crouchy leading the line and holding up play, im scoring from all over the pitch with strikers and midfielders alike. And Bale has been a star at left back since i gave him a run in the side - the boy can really cross it with his left peg.

Brilliant game.

He has hasnt he?! He hit a nice one for me yesterday which bounced in off the post, after raiding down the wing and jinking past a defender.

I like the new training settings too by the way. It always seemed like a waste of time before, but being able to individually allocate points by player, or sign them up to long term training to earn cards means i actually do click on the 'Training' option every now and then.

Really enjoying this game online.

The majority of people do appear to use Real, Barca or Inter but fair play to them. They generally rely a bit too much on their star players rather than play with the team that suits them best. Fair play to them though. Scoring with good passes and teamplay rather than using Ronaldo and powering through slower defences.

Just beat Barca 2-0 in 1st leg of Champions League Quarter Final at home.

Also just agreed a deal to sign Ronaldo for £98million with wages of £19million.

Anyone care to explain how on earth penalties work? It doesn't seem to matter how much or how little I press the buttons or move the stick they seem to either go straight at the keeper or miles wide

Its down to timing, i can near enough put all mine in the corner of the net, mind you i have only had 6 in 3 seasons, 4 were in a penalty shoot out. Also make sure you have a good penalty taker.

I got a pen yesterday for the first time - missed it sooo badly. No idea what to do.

I think this is v good online although some players are still overpowered, not as bad.
It is noce to be able to block long through balls to messi and henry down the flanks by using my full backs off the screen too! Radar = godsend!

What's the timing though?

The in game explaination is of no help. Do I press the shot
button THEN the direction? How much do I press the shot button? How far do I push the stick? I tried all sorts of combinations in a shootout last night and nothing worked...
