Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 (PES 2010) [360/PS3/PC]

I don't really understand how this makes it better or gives you 'more of a chance to skin'?? When I'm playing FIFA I feel like on the wings with Messi i have far more options to beat a man, am i the only one??

When I've played FIFA, this has been my main gripe. Skinning defenders one on one. I can do it in PES and maybe this is why I can't do it in FIFA, due to trying to play it like PES. In FIFA, I always felt like I have to pull off an unrealistic hand fumbling trick using the trick stick. I didn't like this. Hopefully with the new advanced dribbling this will be a thing of the past for me.

And Jebus. I was not talking about online. PES has been broke for the last two games. I wouldn't dare compare.

I posted how I enjoyed some on the couch PES last night and now we're talking how FIFA is better online. Great.

To be fair any game played in LOCAL multiplayer is a good laugh - I've even enjoyed playing WCW Backstage Assault in 2 player.

Fair play if PES local is better, maybe it is, but I have 2 kids and the only multiplayer gaming I get now is online when they are in bed.

Can't remember the last time I played a game with a mate in the same room.

Eh? It doesn't really happen much in footy so make so you are forced to fumble around and try and flick the ball up your back and over your head? Nah, it's something I hope I can do more in FIFA10. If a player has that in his locker then I wanna be able to have a go at it.

I think PES has (rightly) built up a lot of brand loyalty dating back to the PS1 days and that is why people are so used to its brand of football and as I used to be a PES man myself I can still remember the total alien feeling when you first switch to FIFA. I truly believe it is the better game by miles now though and PES seems to be losing its fanbase as they keep putting out rehashes of the same game (see PES2010) whilst making false promises of improvements.

Konami have well dropped the ball in the transition to 'next-gen', whilst EA were organised and built up to the next-gen platform excellently. With FIFA10 I think they've hit their target in terms of their game. Whereas Konami are still stumbling about trying to fix their first 'next-gen' outing. Could be another year or two before they reach PES perfection again. By that time, there will only be me and a couple of lads in this thread still waiting

I'll always give the PES demo's a chance. I just think they should maybe miss a year and scrap the whole code and start again. A years break might reinvigorate the fanbase plus knowing EA they will start to ease off the gas when they are miles in front.
Also the one major gripe people used to have with PES was with it having no licenses but it seems the more it gets the worse the game is! I'd sooner have none and a comprehensive editor.
But anyway this is all pie in the sky talk. PES 2011 will be on its way next year and 'everything will have been fixed'.

I feel really bad about flipping to FIFA, I still have a huge soft spot for PES but can only dedicate to one footy game. If they are losing a PES fanboy apologist like me it doesn't bode well for sales this year.

Defo, the main thing that would sucker me into FIFA would be the licensing. I know it's sad, but seeing them Prem kits would just win me over.

I'll let you know what I think about PES2010 in afirst play thread when I get it. Hopefully I'm get the game earlier than most due to being in that Konami competition a month ago. Said they would sort me out with a promo.
