I'm sure it will be exactly the same next year as well. Some people are just opposed to change. Ah well, maybe next year pes will actually be good again.

How is it meant to be played? As far as ive been able to tell Sensible Soccer is a much more accurate representation of the real thing, so its certainly not meant to be played like football.

This is a firstplay thread, people are giving their impressions on playing the game, its silly to tell people to leave just becuase they arent scared to dislike it and move on better things.

At the same time, people coming in and saying how I'm "unwilling to accept this is a poor game". It's borderline bullying and big baby metality. Do you honestly think it's impossible for someone like this game? Maybe only the die hards are appreciating it due to their willingness to put more time into it. You go over to the WENB/PES Fan forums you'll read a lot of love for the game. You'll also find some good constructive criticsism.

I ain't denying that FIFA is a good game and that people prefer it, but it seems some people can't handle the fact that some prefer PES over it. No matter where you stand I think one should repsect ones decision and move on if it is eating them up inside.

I dont think its impossible to like this game, I dont think I ever said i did.

The fact still remains though that to me it just dosent feel that much like proper football. It is also too dodgy to control to be classed as an "arcade" football game, I would say somthing like Virtua Striker is an arcade football game, somthing slick and simple.

To me PES just feels like a poor simulation of a sport I love, so I dont like it much and do actualy find it hard to belive some people prefer it over FIFA.

But then there are always people who like poor games really, you only have to surf through the first play threads on this very site to see that. So yeah, I suppose I'll let you off.

Well I'm a die hard footy follower, who plays real (outside on a pitch) footy every week and enjoy playing this with what I like to think a footballing brain and I believe one can apply such methods in this game.

I'm not going to deny it can be played with a footballing brain, at least to a certain extent, but you really dont need too, which is where the games main problems lie for me, you can play it with a football brain sure, but whats the point when some lazy bugger could probabaly beat you by 5 goals just by hitting through ball button alot?

You could argue that its more fun to try and play proper football I suppose, but when playing online most people just want to win at the end of the day, and they will do that by playing in the most boring way possible if its the most effective.

It's been adjusted to only really work on clean cut chances. Seriously, give it a go and see how many successful throughballs you can slide willy-nilly through a congested or not even very congested defence. No messing now, I am really thinking you've just made that up.

This was my same thought when you said you could score really easy. I'm not buying it. We need more PES players in here trying this to confirm that it's not easy to slide through ball easily or score easily from range, epseically when playing someone decent and not your FIFA playing mate.

The through ball is broken so far as defenders ignore both it and the attackers running past them to latch onto it.

I have given it a go, ive played this quite a bit, I like to get my money out of games even when i dont like them.

Also, the defenses are alot more congested in FIFA than in this, especialy if you set the team to deffensive and high pressure, you get alot more space in this game in general than in FIFA really.

So are you basing your opinion on Through balls and easy shots for when playing against AI or..?

Because, I think if you are actually defending a through ball, using a footballing brain, utilising the use of R1/RT to select a defender and Super Cancel, it is down to you, the player, to attempt to read such an occurance. Don't leave it to the AI, mate.

The game allows for this control, as does FIFA. Or do you control just one of your players and leave the rest to the AI?

Maybe, like Glazza said, you are not playing the game how it's meant to be played.

To be fair i think the fact you have to use 'super cancel' so much in pes just shows how 'broken' the actual game is. I have tried the pes demo again today and even on top player i could regularly bang the ball on target from 30-40 yards out and the keeper has about a 70% chance of parrying it. And not even a sensible parry either, usually straight to my strikers. Is nobody else seeing this?

What? Do you mean the demo is the same as the finished version? I know that its supposed to be slightly more responsive in the full game? And i heard the keepers were better?? Also the demo doesnt appear to have 360 dribbling??
