How much of this game is single player and how much is multiplayer?

In my humble opinion currently 99% Singleplayer or Coop. 1% Multiplayer.

The multiplayer is broken, waiting on a patch in the coming weeks.

The game shines in Coop, SP. I personally played the whole game SP on Normal, then the whole game through on Hardcore COOP to get the full 1000points. (No online achievements)

I am now about 30% through my third play.

SP A.I can be frustrating at times, and on occasions you have to direct A.I pow's to join you. They don't always obey and there is a trick to selecting them and then saying "move to XYZ" rather than "Follow me"

SP was an interesting experience, unlike any other FPS on consoles. Sort of a step up from GRAW but step down from a proper MILSIM. Perfect for me!

Coop On the other hand.. well I think it's brilliant, and on hardcore you really really do need to focus and with a good team it's untouchable on console currently.

Maybe someone newer to the game can comment, but for me it's been GOTY. (though the bugs would still make me mark it down to 8! The core gameplay just hits the right spots)

Just ordered this from shopto.net for £16.95. Any tips for a newbie? Also how is the online / co-op community?

Even when this game s horribly broken with bugs, in co-op it's still hilarious fun.

The mission of storming the monastery last night was all sort of amazing. Trying to keep enough distance between one another to avoid everyone being blown up by mortar fire, but at the same time being close enough to lend fire support to your team mates.

Then trying to take out AA positions and the game decided we couldn't open any crates. That meant, with the clock ticking before our convoy rolled out into a serious aerial bombardment, a massive detour to scrounge some weapons from another part of the map was required. Cue an even tighter time limit as three of us stormed up the hill to the monastery.

Bloody hell it was intense - there were enemies and incoming mortar fire everywhere and by the time we broke over the top of the monastery and took out the final spotter, one team members comment was "I think I've aged about 20 years!". Gloriously tense and entertaining.

The next mission was bugged to... erm, buggery though. When you call in a cruise missile right on top of a radio tower you'd expect it to go up in flames. In fact, so did the game. But somehow it didn't, which meant we couldn't complete the mission.

Didn't stop us trying though - copious amounts of C4. Nothing. A massive diversion to try and steal a helicopter and APC to blow it up. No joy there (especially when the helicopter caught fire!). The final straw was when we commandeered two enemies trucks and drove our makeshift convoy up to the tower (complete with impromptu trucking music). Or more accurately, we actually drove them through the tower and parked then in the centre of the structure.

At this point you could see the engine screaming in confusion as the frame rate dropped to 10fps and thousands of calculations were thrown into disarray

One C4 blast later and the tower... was still standing

Just started playing this yesterday. Rock hard, not helped by my mate and I coming in straight off MW2 Slightly different games....

Looks great. Tough to spot enemies, but they see you easily enough - that's my big gripe so far. Some daft bugs have popped up, but from reading this thread I'd expected them, so no worries really.

Only up to level 3, this is going to be a long haul title. I think I'll enjoy it

Oh, here you go, info on the patch (my mate started one game last night waste deep in the ground, unable to move - yet to him, he was controlling my character and issue orders to the team!):

                Update

The Xbox 360 version has now been submitted, and we are awaiting MS to come back to us with a release date for both the DLC and Title Update. When this release date has been confirmed I'll communicate it to the forums.

The PS3 version is currently being worked on by the development team, and we'll hopefully be submitting to Sony in the near future.

Full details regarding the DLC content and patch/TU are due out soon, but I can't be more specific than that until it has passed submission and a release date confirmed.

PLEASE NOTE - The patch/title update and DLC are two seperate entities, you do NOT need to have any of the DLC to download the patch/title update.

Good news, hopefully we get the patch before 2010.

I hope this resolves these key issues:

                  - People getting stuck in scenery
                  - People getting killed by scenery (Walls and stairs)
                  - Free look in cars
                  - AI taking too many hits to go down
                  - Trigger event failure and missions bugging out
                  - Poor AI of P.O.W's following you
                  - Ammo crates "Deactivate" sometimes if someone opens but doen't pick an item.
                  - Red dots on the map should be removed on Hardcore "Map screen"

If I hadn't already done hardcore mode, I'd be tempted to wait for this patch before embarking on that adventure.

A great game, and if they can resolve these issues it will become an even better experience for all, and less broken and frustrating.

                    OUCH!

Imagine pouring months, even years of work into a project, and then being unable to put your name on it. Unfortunately, that's the reality for many video game developers – and there's not much they can do about it.

"OFP2 was a seriously broken project, with two or three restarts, and a very high turnover of staff," he reflects. "Looking through the credits list it was disturbing to see how many people had been left out, presumably because they either weren't part of the core team who finished it or had left the company before it shipped."

Codies must have some suction at Microsoft! The DLC has passed testing & clearance.

They expect the patch to be live before Chrimbo. Good news for Hardcore virgins! May you never suffer the pain of today's 1000 point club.

Great news. I've not been playing long, but it keeps doing daft things like removing all my ammo, not allow me to change guns, etc.

I'm still crap at it, and my co-op team haven't passed level 3

                          Apparently the patch is out!

Very confusing, as the HeadMan mod, Helios says "No it isn't" but the users say "Yes it is!"

                          Weird!

Anyway, sniper sway is added, so you need to go Prone to get a solid line. Other than that, no info!

So they release the patch before the patch notes? Awesome...

I will try and load the game to see. I wonder if this might just be a "DLC prep patch" rather than the title update.

Will post if I hear anything.

                            Confirmed as the Patch

I actually managed to join a "Versus" online game yesterday!

Fix list and new DLC will be posted Monday 10:00 CET

It sounds rather vague. The people in charge claiming it's not the patch, and people are just re-downloading Patch 1?

Is it possible there was a problem with the MS servers or the Patch 1 install so it didn't complete properly, but is now working?

I also LOL'd at the comment that the PS3 patch is going to be longer coming because Sony take so long approving things! From what I've seen, Sony have a much quicker turnaround than MS on patches, as we've recently seen in MW2.

And I really hope people stop calling Patches "Title Updates". That's the latest marketting bull****. It's implying, "No no we're not fixing issues that shouldn't have been there in the first place, we're giving you an improved title!". Sure, it is improved - because they'd of fixed some of the bugs

Hope to get a firm Yes or No if this is Patch 2, as people are saying it's not fixing a load of issues they've encountered. As for me, I'm looking forward to getting another game of this tonigh

Three important fixes for Coop fans!

                                On the DLC:

                                Specific for Coop:

These new multiplayer modes are complimented by two brand new FTEs. In Friendly Skies, PLA anti-aircraft artillery prevents US airborne reinforcements inserting into the combat zone. Players must remove that threat and then defend the position from a PLA counter attack. In Hostile Takeover, intel reveals enemy movement in the village of Armudan, a perfect base for launching attacks deep into enemy territory. Gamers must flush out the PLA, establish a perimeter and hold their ground against a new enemy assault.

The ‘Overwatch’ pack will be available from Xbox Live Marketplace (400 Microsoft Points) today and will be available on the PlayStation Network (£3.19 / $4.99 / €3.99) soon.

I really liked the first two Coop mission in DLC and am happy to pay £3 for two more.
