I didnt like Deus Ex either, I think its a massivley overrated game, alot of people often go doolally over having "choice" in games and it seems to make them think that games that give you such "choice" of what to do are better than games that dont, and well its not usualy true really.
Games, in the end, should be largley about gameplay anyway, And uncharted 2 has some of the best gameplay Ive ever experienced hands down, also, the way it immeseres you is like nothing else. Therefore I think its safe to say it IS one of the best ever made.Last edited by rmoxon; 03-11-2009, 09:56.

I guess the best game ever comments come from what you want from a game. To be honest I couldn't care less about some new idea or "genius" concept. It's all about the experience and how much enjoyment I get from a game and Uncharted 2 delivered that big time for me.
The two Uncharted games have delivered one thing that no other game has to me. That playing through a great action film vibe. It's something that many games have attempted, but in my personal opinion always failed to deliver.

Just got my copy a couple of days ago,I've got to say it it really is good maybe even better than the first one.
Am about 3/4 of the way thro the game and I can't stop playing it,haven't been online yet cos I want to finish the game first.I don't play a lot of new gen games(I only have 4 games all in all for the PS3).
Don't know about GotY but for me it's a great game, and am so glad that i didn't sell my PS3 now.

Completed this a few days back (3 nights to get through), and spent the last couple of nights playing Elimination.
Fantastic game. Best voice acting ever - didn't have to turn on the subtitles, something I find I normally have to do to make out what people are saying. The combination of sound production values/recording, acting, mixing and lip synch worked wonders.
Yes, it is a fantastic game, but I think it could have been better. Definitely a 9 out of 10 for me - you're never sure what scenery you can take cover behind, and I found myself jumping blindly to my death far too often. Other than that, brilliant.
Graphics are top notch, many Wow!! moments for me. The little touches are great. What's truly impressive is the range of scenery the devs have mastered. They cover more terrain types, and the engine does them all better than anyone else has managed one.
Not sure it'll make my GOTY top 3 list yet. I've just been playing online, and I think Elimination is brilliant and may be enough to get it there, but of course, I need more than 2 evenings online to get a proper opinion. It's like Gears but more fluid, faster, and vertical. Alas with few of my gaming buddies around much these days, it's unlikely to ever hit Gears style compulsion and I'll never get to know UC2 as well as that game. There may be a lot of depth in that.
But why oh ****ing why do devs have to put explosives into every multiplayer title? Am I the only one who doesn't want uber powerful weapons? I'd be happy to stick to a couple of gun variations and work tactically like that, rather than over powered RPGs and grenade spamming - the grenades in this need a slightly longer fuse, they're hugely powerful.

I played the first game once, I don't think it has any impact on this one.
I stuck it on Hard, and it was, well, easy. Difficulty will just change the enemies, and I died far more from blind jumping than anything else. Only one or two spots where enemies were more than a mild problem.
Plus you earn more cash to spend on online upgrades by completing it on Hard

Gotta give full credit to ND, cannot believe how compelling this is purely on the strength of a single player experience. Got the Platinum on Saturday after a total play time of 32hr 40m which is epic. After the equivalent of 3 and a half playthroughs and all that mp play I still had to drag myself away

But the ending was awesome...love the ending to bits. Best part of the game for me.
Most pathetically pointless trolling post ever?
