i'm on the Microsoft one which I got in Gamestation brand new for ?65 (as opposed to their list ?80 as the bloke matched Argos). looked at those fantec porsche ones but seemed a bit pricey for me for the use I'd get out of it.

tempted by the wheel stand pro but can anybody advise when they ordered the microsoft compatible one did it come with the plate in the picture to fill in the gap in the foot pedals ?

also notice i right foot brake all the time which i'd never do in a real car.

I have the Wheel Stand Pro (G25 fitting with Xbox 360 extension bundle) and that did come with a foot plate to cover the gap in the 360 foot pedals.

Do you mean left foot brake? Everyone right foot brakes when using the clutch. I'd never left foot brake in a real car even in an automatic, but I always left foot brake when playing driving games.

Same here. Plate goes across the gap to clamp the pedals to the stand and cover the gap itself.

Im liking the stand, but im still rubbish with the wheel! Its much harder with force feedback shaking the car around. Doesnt help that im currently stuck in a series of long R3 races but ive somehow put myself in a situation where im using an upgraded Porsche that is great on the straights but just cannot turn in! Unfortunately i cant afford to buy another R3 car at the moment as i spent all my money on upgrades

Can you actually sell cars in the game on this (as opposed to the auction house)?

I did mean left foot brake, don't know why but it feels fine, whilst in my real auto car it feels horrible

Wheelstand ordered too for full effect.

Anybody tried both the MS and fanatic wheels, be interested to know what the extra dosh gets you, is there any game feedback bonus or is it just fit & finish ?

I am really interested in a wheel for this but I would also like a wheel for GT5.

Whats my options besides a wheel for each console??

Ooofff. Its pricey. AFAIK the only wheel that works with PC/PS3 and 360 is a Fanatec Porche wheel, and they are about ?250+

Both 360 and PS3 (and PC) use a USB connector and yet there is no sensible sub-?100 wheel option that you can use on all. Why, I don't know. Anyone with the knowledge should go on Dragons Den!

i read its to do with Microsoft and some protection software? this is from recent reading.

I was looking to spend £100 tops for a used wheel.
Will wait until GT5 out and see how good it really is first!

                    Cheers

Armed with my wheel I'm now turning in times I couldn't previously dreamed of, I'm top 2% on Maple Valley in S class cars and made some huge jumps elsewhere.

You just flow so well and it feels so much more natural than a pad for a more simmy game like this, wouldn't want to use it on Blur tho.

I started to get the hang of the wheel the other night as well. I found using the bonnet cam made a massive difference actually - what view are you using Merf?

Always bonnet view for me. In car too restrictive and out of car has never worked for me

I'm always racing inside view, just once in while I use bonnet view when racing online to have a bit better view of the people around I'm racing with.
Inside view gives me the best sensation of actually racing

i prefer the bonnet view as the cockpit view is so poorly implemented here compared to NfS:Shift that it mostly put me off. especially as you can see lots of cockpit designs have been rushed and lack most of the details.

i really hope GT5 gives the option to adjust the cockpit view, respectively the driver seat position, to allow a better, bigger field of view.

Man this gets tedious quickly. As far as i can tell its basically the same as Forza 2, just with some new cars and a fresh lick of paint to the graphics.

Whats annoying is that Turn 10 seem to have made no effort to mix things up since the previous installment - their representation of difficulty as the game progresses basically consists of longer races on tracks that you have already competed on a number of times. I don't want to do 20 laps round that boring New York track just because i'm now in a faster car.

Disappointing really. Still, i picked it up for cheap and am getting some good practice in with the steering wheel ahead of F1 2010 being released, so its still providing some entertainment.

Quick question about the wheel actually. I can wiggle mine up and down slightly, as if there is some play in the centre rod that holds the wheel to the unit. I have a feeling this might be normal but just wanted to see if anyone elses did the same?
