    I have to agree...

I think the emblems/titles stuff just clutters the HUD and are very unnecessary... a clan tag was enough... and of course the dual wielding stuff is just stupid.

Other than that though I like the rest of the MP. I initially disliked the sheer amount/range of new killstreaks and found them hard to counter but I've found you really need to progress up the ranks a little to get the equipment to balance it out.

At first you really need an RPG launcher in your pocket to take out aircraft and I am now working towards getting Cold-Blooded as a perk so they cant lock-on to you on the ground.

Dont mind the heartbeat sensor stuff so much. I tend to approach MP slow and methodical as it is so I am always expecting someone to be around the next corner. I figure learning the maps and vantage points will counter them in the long run.

MP is still the mode I've spent the least amount of time in thanks to what is closing in on a crusade to max out Spec Ops mode. For the most part it's not too bad but I'd say it's not as balanced as they've managed to make the single player on veteran this time. Despite the usual out of date hammering many give Treyarch they have gotten an awful lot right of late and the theory behind co-op levels is in some ways better than what IW has implemented with the Spec Ops mode. The most glaring ommission still being that you don't get XP that counts towards the MP.

        Few gripes tho:

Dual weilds are **** and too powerfull - esp on last stand. lifted from Halo imo..

Emblems and titles are lifted straight out of SFVI - not very original imo...

Heartbeat sensors are just too much in MP. Radar is fine on its own.
Heartbeat sensors, Thermal scopes etc can be countered with Perks, just like nearly everything in the game. I usually have Ninja Pro for Perk 3, so I don't show up on the Heartbeat scanners, or make a noise when I move.

Even the stuff that seemed overwhelming at first, like AC-130s or whatever, can be rendered useless if you just remain in hard cover. That's stating the obvious, but whenever I've got one of the controllable killstreak awards, I'm always amazed at how many people will just stupidly carry on doing what they were doing and not take evasive action

Once you get familiar with the maps, it's pretty easy to avoid the killstreak rewards. Probably the only one that's hard to avoid, is the Predator since it's fast and you don't get much warning, but there's plenty of time to hide from the others.
Plus of course they can be shot down now that many players now have access to Stingers and Javelins - UAVs etc seem to get blown out of the sky within seconds these days.

Overall, the multiplayer feels pretty well-balanced to me, and supremely addictive

Still to try multiplayer or Special Ops, but having completed the campaign I'm very unimpressed with this. Everything from the gameplay to the story to the graphics and sound is just very generic and devoid of any sense of artistic direction, flair or charm.

It's not often I hate things in videogames but the way blood splatters over your eyes whenever you get hit and more importantly wherever you get hit is, quite frankly, ridiculous. You can be standing behind a truck with only your lower legs on view, which are subsequently shot and suddenly your eyes are covered in blood, I mean seriously, what's that all about? It’s nonsense.

Then there's your squad mate’s artificial intelligence which is decidedly unintelligent as they frequently stand doing nothing as an enemy 6 feet away from them sprays you with bullets. Then there’s that Shepherd fella, what was his stupid voice all about? He sounds like one of those over-dramatic, super-deep voiced Americans that Hollywood use to advertise their movies - i.e. annoying and not at all believable. When the ****s hitting the fan you don't want some guy trying to sound cool, because when the **** hits the fan people don't try sounding cool, they tend to sound like the ****’s hitting the fan. It just killed any sense of suspended belief (not that there was much to begin with).

The game doesn't really attempt to do anything new either, indeed many of the levels seem a bit too similar to Modern Warfare's, albeit in a different setting, and the underlying vibe I felt throughout the whole thing was that the developers were out of ideas so concentrated on trying to make the game cool and controversial but, by their very act of trying, succeeded in neither.
At the end of the day I think the game's campaign can be likened to a Hollywood movie - big, bold and brash but lacking any real substance or emotional connection. I hope Special Ops is better...

Normally I hate objective and love deathmatch but in this I'm finding it the complete opposite.

However, there are zero tactics amongst the XBL-Numpties out there, all just running off doing their own thing.

I really am enjoying it though even if I feel some of the things are a bit daft. Tactical Nuke anyone? Seriously, my team won the last two matches because of the nuke, it just feels...stupid.

My only REAL complaint though is spawn-killing, there is no way you should be able to be insta-killed the moment you spawn, it's just unreasonable.

I'd also voice a concern about the riot shield class, if I put a shotgun blast directly at you (twice) then surely there must be SOME kind of damage to the shield, even if it just knocks you back a bit? But nope, you can peek our your magnum and destroy me. Oh okay then...how about I throw a grenade where you are standing? No? The lag is on your side and you'll kill me again? Oh ok, fair enough then I guess...

I played some glorious tactical MP with randoms last night and some with Kubrick too. Everyone was hiding when the helis and stuff came over and covering everyone else and exits. You could see everyone on the map with their little arrows facing in opposite directions to cover all corners. Top fun.

Listening to people moving is fun - you can tell where they are before they appear unless they are ninja or crouching. I tend to crouch a lot. I'm level 19 and have only used one weapon M4A1 - I get so many kills from a distance. It's quite accurate.

This might be slightly off topic but does anyone know when the original is coming to XBLA? Obviously the SE guys have their codes already so it has to be done...Just wondering when it's gonna land for us paupers.

Finished the campaign last night. Stunning basically. Second best FPS I've ever played (I'm not a huge FPS fan as it goes generally).

yes the game works very well when playing as a team. I play with my friends majority of the time and any time a flag is being captured etc we always say who'll watch what side etc. Always helping each other out too by pointing out enemies that are camping etc. It's the right way to play and it works so well when it's done properly.

I also think it's hilarious how so many people run about as normal when the chopper gunners and AC 130's are out. Silly silly people!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love the knife and Commando perk in this. I got 16 knife kills out of 36 kills overall in one match last night. Wasn't even camping or hiding, just run n gun n stab!

This seems to be the best way to play on the small levels like Rust in free-for-all.It's great to see people shooting like mad only to end up with a knife in them, but if you miss.

Hi, I read the thread through from start to finish today and noticed early on you were quite disappointed with the game.

Any particular reason for the change in view?

So, what's your best FPS out of interest?

Ive got the tactical knife (the kind of 1 hand pistol 1 hand knife primed from single player) attachment to my usp, and now i just basically run around at full speed knifing everyone, you can easily wrack up the kills so fast its daft.

I expect its also a pretty quick way to get people to hate you hmm

You can attach a knife to the USP? HOW?

You need to get 75 kills with said pistols, best done on hardcore, its the same as it appears in single player you hold the pistol in one hand and the knife in the other with crossed wrists

Its good fun, makes me feel like

I'll be doing that then! I was enjoying my M93 Raffica pistol but I'll switch now and see what it's like.
