Prestige in MW2 is worth it for extra rewards etc. and ranking back up doesn't take long. I have prestiged 4 times and my K/D ratio is still 1.84 so I am happy

I'm in the "never going to Prestige" camp too.

I don't care about extra rewards like emblems and titles, so I'll ignore them. And I think that 5 custom classes are enough. I'd like more class slots, but to Prestige would mean hours (I'd guess around 40) of play before I had all the stuff I like (especially as I'm a OMA fiend who loves the AK47 and whose favourite Perk 3 is Sitrep Pro). Getting things like SitRep Pro took ages (destroy 120 enemy equipment with Sitrep), and I don't see why I'd ever want to do that again.

For me, the worst thing about MW2 is having to unlock stuff and I hate "grinding" in any game. So, for me, the benefit of extra class slots is completely overshadowed by the negative of having to unlock everything again.

I just love the combo of OMA, Nube Tube and Danger Close with either C4 or Claymores.

Totally sweet. Love it on Scrapyard when starting near A, run to the left and get a double/triple kill with a nade on C. (Domination)

I'm exactly the same. The idea of prestiging appeals but the time necessary and the reward for doing so just isn't worth it for me.

Danger Close and OMA is certainly powerful.

My main use of OMA is to let me turn Cold Blooded on and off when I need it. I'll start the game with OMA+SP and my AK. When an enemy UAV goes up, I switch to a OMA+CB class. When the UAV has gone, I switch back to OMA+SP.

I do the same with air support. The second I hear "Enemy Harrier incoming" or whatever, I hit Y and choose a OMA+CB class. Once the air support has gone, I switch back to OMA+SP.

This way I almost never get killed by air support, but at the same time use SP for 90% of my kills.

I also like to switch to a Hardline class when I've got a Predator (as this means that one kill will get me a Harrier), and switch to a Danger Close Pro class (increased damage from air support) when deploying a Chopper Gunner or AC130.

And I regularly switch from a Ninja Pro class (silent movement) when I'm rushing to a Sitrep Pro class (enemy footsteps are 4x louder) when I'm defending.

Basically, if I were to Prestige I'd lose a huge amount of time getting the stuff I already have and gain very little.

I went back to this the other day and I was rather pleasantly surprised! Obviously I hadn't played it since it had been patched, and to me, there's still some very dubious **** going on in the game...but I find if (when playing solo) I keep it to 4-8 sized matches, I really do enjoy playing the game and usually finish in the top four!

I will say though, there was an extremely dubious kill someone did where they threw a grenade that landed at my feet, which upon watching the killcam I realised they not only couldn't see me (and had no heart beat sensor etc) but were on the floor below and throwing blindly through a window!!

not been online on this since i hit 67 ages ago, has the care package glitch been fixed yet?

Yeah care package glitch is gone mate.

OMA is a very useful perk that most people overlook, like Soi I've used it to switch to a matching class with CB but I ended up ditching OMA in the end simply because it use up your secondary weapon slot and that means you get no launcher. It's therefore useful if someone else on your team has your back with taking out air attacks. Obviously if you're running with CB on it doesnt matter for you but it all depends on whether you're a team player or not!

I'm about to prestige for a 2nd time and I'll continue to do so. The turnaround from level 0 - 10 is so short I dont see it as an issue and from then on you get your custom classes and most of the early decent weapons back on hand. Really once you get to equip stopping power and commando you're back on level pegging with anyone further up the level count provided you play to your strengths.

I'm still loving this though... some modes work better than others on each of the maps but there are some great tactics with some load-outs. It can be annoying in places but all things considered I think there is fairly decent balancing across the weapon/perk set now. The only thing I'd like to see IW address these days is the matchmaking and party issues where members are getting dropped merging lobbies.

I can honestly see me playing this till COD 'Nam comes out and beyond.

Just sounds like what I would call a "random grenade kill".

Used to do it on the original Modern Warfare all the time. Just randomly throw a couple of grenades in different directions and "hope" for kills. Most of the time I used to throw them in a direction after looking at the radar but a few times I actually just randomly threw them and got a single or double kill. Fun times.

A bit harder to do the same in Modern Warfare 2 but it does happen occasionally. I even had it happen to me a couple times and just laughed it off.

Yep I do this from the start of a round on scrapyard and quite often get a group-hug kill with semtex.

It's a legitimate tactic, well at least when I do it anyway...

**** me! I didn't realise people played this for so long! I was impressed with my day and a half but you guys are mental. I've always been pleased if a game gets to £1 per hour before I stop playing it so with MW2 being at about 50p p/h I'm quite chuffed. Value for money.

Do you guys actually play any other games then or is it solely COD for six months or so? My attention span and enjoyment of a game have never lasted that long in all the time I've been playing. Too many new games to get into

I play this every week in an online session with mates but as well as that its my go-to game if I have say 30mins spare to get in a couple of rounds.

Any other time I am picking up on SP games I've been finishing off (Mass Effect, Borderlands) but ones that need a good few hours sit down time per play.

After about 72hrs played all in I'm at the point where my attention is drifting to other titles. I'd say it's time for the first of the DLC to hit but as usual Activision's silly plans mean it's probably another 2 months until it does.

A lot of my friends and relatives are right into it so I play it nearly every day. Since it came out, Assassin's Creed II is probably the only game that's proved strong enough to keep me off MW2 for any length of time.

New maps will definitely be most welcome but it's still holding my interest since there's always some guns etc that I haven't really used yet. Plus, I still haven't unleashed a nuke yet so that gives me extra motivation.

Two guys in freeforall last night, with same clan tag, one of them getting constant kills with the other. Obviously boosting. I couldn't kill them in time though - kept on getting gunned down on the way to where they were. 2 nukes in a row. The shame

By the way, in FFA, can everyone hear you when you talk during the game? Could I have warned everyone of the boosters? I didn't have my headset in, but could have done. Everyone was fuming afterwards.
