Finished it earlier. Goddammit. We probably have to wait 10 years now for the next one or not get it at all.

I am a few hours in after going to Morries after Bayonetta wasn't delivered. It looks pretty nice and I like all the plaforming and the combat is pretty good but I will say this. Why must they put annoying unbeatable (or seemingly unbetable) enemies within those arena challenges. Its bloody annoying they keep insta-killing me at the end of the challenge.

I keep dodging them when I can but its still hard work!

The tower area is dragging a little, only a slight criticism, lots of puzzles and such, its all good still but i miss the open areas where i can horsie around etc

the tower stuff is doing my nut infact, keep getting stuck and losing patience fast

The tower did seem to drag on a tiny bit yeah, I was kind of hoping he'd break the third one himself, the lazy powerless bastard.

Loved the game though, despite it having that look that most THQ games have of looking like they're made out of wood..... only makes sense in my head

Also War has the most terrible looking heels. They look like a cross between South Park characters or an Elephants.

Man, what a game this is turning out to be. I knew it was going to be 'good' but im enjoying it more then stuff like Uncharted 2, infact in my opinion its only second to Batman: AA over 2009/2010 (so far...). The art is phenomenal too, is there a Darksiders comic?

                Anyhoo...

                Im now in

                the spider-web dungeon

, its been an absolute blast. I do have some criticisms though, for one the controls while functional arent exactly intuituve or instinctive I do find myself from time to time having to think about a move/action im trying to pull off and then having a little fiddle in the menu's to jog my memory. Secondly the game is a tad glitched infact during the sub-boss battle where you meet
the game didnt load the section after the boss fight causing me to reload my last save. I didnt even work out the game had glitched until I had a google on what I was meant to be doing...

Perhaps if the game took a little more time in development and it could have been really special, as it is its well excecuted and tremendous fun and considering this is Virgil Games first title the future is extremely bright for them and us.

I received a comic with the game, but it seemed it was only the prologue of more to come?

                  It looks awesome though.

Just finished the first dungeon. Oh my God, this is Zelda! I couldn't believe it when I got the cross-blades. Literally this is HD Zelda but violent!

It's criminal the lack of press this is getting, I'm nearly 3 hours in and I can only assume it gets very grindy and boring later on, otherwise the lack of hype around this game is a bit strange.

The game gets better and better mate. The latter sections are anything but grindy and boring. You're in for a treat.

It just kind of baffles me that Bayonetta is a "10/10" because this game has taken me away from it! I suppose I should whisper this but I think this might be a better game!

I really urge people to consider this game, it's wonderful!

Glad to hear it gets better as well!

I totally agree mate. I enjoyed Darksiders a whole lot more than Bayonetta.

Like I said in one of my previous posts in this thread, it is a shame that this has sort of got lost in all the hype around Bayonetta.

I think they can't be compared. Darksiders is obviously the longer and better adventure with a better story. Bayonetta has the versatile combat engine, challenge and replay value.

I've just finished Darksiders on Apocalyptic and netted 80% of the trophies. Took me exactly 20 hours to beat. I gotta say Apocalyptic starts punishing, you will die. But I ended up breezing through, especially when I grabbed the armor. I didn't use items for the last few bosses, they took like 3 of my 6-8 bars away. The ending made me want a sequel right away.

Its a great game, but mind you there is absolutely no replay value.

Darksiders isn't perfect ofcourse, what I want to see in a sequel is a big ass overworld that houses the dungeons. I kind of felt the serpent paths were some sort of cheap way out. It would be great to explore such a world with your horse, even if its been done before. In fact, a lot in Darksiders has been done before but it doesn't make the game exactly bad or boring.

Totally agreee, people really need to consider this game, it gets fantastic. It just starts really slow, it doesnt seem to get going until you defeat the 1st boss. But its really worth putting in those 1st few hours work.

Take some time out from the wounderfull bayonetta and play this!
